Season’s Greetings

Hi all and Happy Halloween!  I have a (non-Halloween) card for a few challenges today.  It’s an easel card, which I haven’t made in a while, but still love!

 ChristmasHollySprite1

I used another Aurora Wings image called Christmas Holly Sprite.  I colored her with Copics and added 2 tiny Gold Nugget Glittered Gumdrops for her earrings.  The snowy hill she’s standing on was die cut from glitter cardstock and the sentiment is from Winter Wishes.  The large stitched rectangle die is from Blueprints 15.

This is for the following challenges:

Happy Holidays

Hi all!  It’s time for a new set of Fun Friday challenges over at the YNS Blog!  Here’s our sketch: NovSketch2014

And we have something new for you – a color challenge:

YNS Color Challenge 1

I went with the sketch this time, turned on its side:

WinterFunTagDieSet1

I used the Winter Fun Tag Die Set for the sentiment and snowflakes, and Candy Apple Red and Winter White Glittered Gumdrops.  The snowflakes were cut out of Doodlebug white sugared cardstock and popped up on foam dots.

This is also for Cute Card Thursday - Razzle Dazzle.

We hope you’ll play along!  All of the details can be found at the YNS Blog.  TFL!

You’re Unique

Hi all!  I have another page (not a full layout this time) from my fun journal for today.  I made it for the Mama Elephant Challenge – Anything Goes:

ArcticPenguins1

Heh heh.  I used Arctic Penguins and the matching Creative Cuts from Mama Elephant.  I got the quote off the internet and printed it on my laser printer so it wouldn’t smear when I went over it with gel medium.  Next I stamped, colored and die cut a whole bunch of the different penguins from the set.

I gessoed the book page, then covered it with blue watercolors (note to self – don’t use watercolors as a base – they smear!).  I arranged the quote and all the penguins then glued them down with gel medium.  I also went over all of them to make sure they were all stuck down really well.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Holiday Cheer Hugs

Hi all!  I have a card for several challenges today:

ChubbyChumPals2

I used the bear and Santa hat from Chubby Chum Pals, the holiday cheer is from Christmas Sampler, and the hugs is half a sentiment from We Connect.

I stamped everything in black Versafine ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I colored with copic markers and a white colored pencil.  The hat was stamped separately and fussy cut out.

This is for the following challenges:

I’m also sending this in to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Be A Unicorn!

Hi all!  Today I have another new (to me) stamp company called Ppinky Dolls.  I instantly fell in love with the images and especially loved this one when it came out!  It’s called Unicorn Ppinky and it’s just too adorable!  I had the perfect saying to go with it too!

UnicornPpinky1

I saw that saying on the internet somewhere and thought it was so funny, so I stored it away in my brain to use later.  And I guess now is later!

Here’s a close up of Ppinky:

UnicornPpinky1b

Unfortunately the colors came out all weird in my pictures – the purple paint is much nicer in real life and the grey specks all over are actually silver glitter.  I colored Ppinky with colored pencils because I still haven’t got the hang of coloring her with Copics – I need more practice.  You can see in the close shot that I added embossing paste stars all over the top of the page to give it texture.

This is for Ppinky Dolls Challenge – Anything Goes or Halloween, and also SSS Monday Challenge – Anything Goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

YNS After Party

Hi all!  Welcome to my post for the Your Next Stamp After Party.  Today I have a (hopefully) funny card for you:

HolidayMartini1

Hee hee!  I crack myself up!  I used the Holiday Martini set and the Scribbled Alphabet.

I arranged the image and sentiment on my block first before stamping.  That meant that I had to cut apart the sentiment to place it on either side of the martini.  I stamped everything and drew in a partial table line.  I decided to leave it uncolored so the colored portion would stand out more.  I stamped the FA and all the green LAs first, intentionally smudging the last one, then stamped all the red LAs, intentionally double stamping the last one.  I hope you get it and like it as much as I do! :)

You can check the YNS Blog to see all the fabulous After Party (Feature Day)creations! And don't forget to leave a comment there to have a chance to win a YNS stamp set of your choice!   TFL!

YNS October New Release Hop!

Oct192014hopbadge

Hi all!  Welcome to the Your Next Stamp October 2014 New Release Hop and New Website Launch!  You should have come from Deborah's blog, if not, you'll want to start at Tracy's blog because you won't want to miss a stop!

We have a bunch of new stamp sets and dies this month and I’m super excited because we also have a new website!!  The address is the same, but it’s completely redone!

I love making things for Winter/Christmas and this release is full of goodies to help with my crafting!  My favorite set though, has nothing to do with either.  It’s called Scribbled Alphabet and I designed it!!  Yippee!!  I so love it when my ideas come to life and I get to play with them and share them with you!  It’s a really fun set that will work to many any sentiment for any occasion or holiday, so have fun with it!

Well, enough chatter – let’s get on with the show!

For my first project I have a seemingly simple card, but it’s got some tricks and technique thrown in:

ScribbledAlpha2a

The tag is actually mounted on foam tape and the flourishes on the tag exactly match the flourishes on the white panel.  Here’s another view so you can see there really is dimension:

ScribbledAlpha2b

I used the new Scribbled Alphabet, the Flourishes stamp set, and the Stitched Fishtail Tags Two Die Set (all 3 of which I designed!!).  Here’s a video I made of the process:

My second project is a spinner card:

SmileyHappyChristmas2

I used Smiley Happy Christmas and the Large Spinner/Slider die.  If you’d like to see how I make these cards, you can check out THIS VIDEO I made previously.

I stamped the snowflake with Memento black ink and colored a bit with Copics.  Then I went over it with a clear Wink of Stella pen and then a coating of Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is also from the set and I embossed it with silver EP.  The strip of snowflakes at the bottom is actually part of the patterned paper – that little throw-away strip that’s at the bottom of most 12x12 papers!

As always, there are prizes to be won: 5 random winners will receive $20 to spend in the YNS Store.  The prizes are randomly placed amongst all the blogs, so the more blogs you comment on, the more chances to win!

Celebrate Sneak Peek

Hi all!  Today I have a sneak peek project for Your Next Stamp’s October 2014 release:

SmileyHappyChristmas1

It’s a pillow box made with the Gift Card Pillow Box Die Set and an image from the new Smiley Happy Christmas.  He was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Copics.  I added a little white paint pen for highlights.

YNS Halloween Fun Friday

Hi all!  It’s time for another Fun Friday over at the YNS Challenge Blog

Here’s our sketch for this month:

October 2014 sketch

And our inspiration pic:

October 2014 - photo

Today I decided to take inspiration from the colors in the inspiration pic – yellow, orange, and white.  Of course the first thing I thought of is candy corn!  Here’s what I came up with:

HalloweenCuties4

I used the candy corn from Halloween Cuties, a bunch of different Fun Faces, and a sentiment from Fang-Tastic Halloween.  I cut the focal panel with a Nesties die and stamped the candy corn all over it, colored with Copics and stamped on the little faces.  I cut a strip of black cardstock with the same Nesties die and white heat embossed the sentiment on it.  I adhered it to the focal panel and tied on some black and white Timeless Twine.  Finally the focal point was mounted on the card with foam tape.

This is also for the following challenges:

I hope you like it and will play along with us!  All the details can be found at the YNS Challenge Blog.

Season’s Greetings

PAJAMA-PARTY-LOGO_thumb[1]

Hi all!  Today I have a card for the October Waltzingmouse Pajama Party, specifically the sketch challenge (BTW – I know I’m missing the little bits on the focal panel, but I just couldn’t bear to add anything else to this card!):

GiftCardIt1

I used Gift Card It for the sentiment and Very Vintage Labels No. 18 for the framing image.  I cut it out with the matching Nesties – Labels 18 and popped it up on the card with a double layer of foam boosters.  The flags are cut with several fishtail flag dies that I have.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Oh, and this is also going to be sent to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  Won’t you play along too?

Happy Halloween

Hi all!  I have a card using a digi image from a company I recently discovered called Aurora Wings.  I’ve fallen head over heels for her images so you’ll be seeing more AW in the future!  Here’s my card for today:

WildRoseSprite1

I used Whimsical Wild Rose Sprite and Copic markers.  I wanted to do a Halloween card with a non-Halloween image, so that’s where this came from. The sentiment is from the YNS set Fang-Tastic Halloween

This is for the following challenges:

I hope you like it and TFL!

Boo!

Hi all!  I’ve got a card for several challenges today:

HalloweenCuties3

The candy corn image is from the YNS Halloween Cuties set and the face is from the Fun Faces set.  I got the word bubble from the WMS Boo and Friends set.  I stamped some candy corn near the bottom of the panel, then masked them off and stamped the rest of the candy corn.  I colored with Copics and then added the little face and sentiment.  Next I fussy cut along the bottom of the candy corn and mounted the whole panel with foam tape on black cardstock.  The card base is actually white cardstock so I don’t have to worry how to write inside it.

This is for the following challenges:

I hope you like it and TFL!

Happy Holidays

Hi all!  Today I have a card made for the MFT Get Sketchy challenge:

 OrnamentBannerBuilder1

I used the Ornament Banner Builder stamp set and matching dies and also dies from Blueprints 15 (large stitched panel) and Blueprints 12 (sentiment flag).  I inked up the sentiment half at a time and stacked the words on the flag and then tied on some silver-edged ribbon.  Both the flag and banner are adhered with foam tape.

This is also for C.R.A.F.T. Challenge – Christmas, and I’m sending this card to the Caring Hearts Card Drive (Christmas or Holiday Wishes).  I hope you like it and TFL!

Sparkle & Shine

Hi all!  I’ve got a card here for the Little Tangles challenge – Anything Goes:

SparkleAndShine8

I used the Sparkle and Shine set from Neat & Tangled.  First I stamped the sentiment on vellum and embossed with white EP, then I colored the back of it with an orange Copic marker.  Next I stamped and embossed the diamonds in white EP as well and watercolored over them with pink.  I added a few sequins and it was done!  I hope you like it and TFL!

You & Me Forever

Hi all!  I have another challenge card for you today.  This one is for Curtain Call – Smooch.

WeConnect3

I used the We Connect set and Distress Inks.  Stamped the sentiments in Versamark ink and embossed in white, then watercolored all over the panel with the Distress Inks.  I added more color in certain areas to give it interest.  Then I finished it off with some sequins and pearls.

This is also for Paper Smooches – Anything Goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

World Card Making Day 2014

Hi everybody!  Hope you’re all having a fun and productive WCMD!  Today I’m working on some entries for the PaperCrafts Magazine’s WCMD contest, so I can’t share those with you, but here’s one I shared on Instagram:

SweetBirthdayWishes1

I used Sweet Birthday Wishes and the matching dies from MFT.  I also used Blueprints 15 for my layout.  I stamped the girl, colored her with copics, then die cut her out.  She was mounted with foam tape and I drew a little Copic shadow for her.  I stamped a sentiment from the same set and sewed it on the card.

This is also for

I hope you like it and TFL!

On Your Special Day

Hi all!  Another challenge card for you today.  This time I’m playing with Uniko Studio’s Challenge #14 – CAS with a color palette.  Here’s what I came up with:

Vines2

I took inspiration from THIS POST by Maile Belles and did a cut out panel with some stamping behind it with the colors from the given palette.  I used Background Builders: Vines and a sentiment from Flower Power #3.  I really love how this card turned out so I think I’ll try the cut out panel again on a future creation!  I hope you like it and TFL!

And our inspiration pic:

October 2014 - photo

ScriptyWordDies2

As you can see, I used the sketch and also took some colors from the inspiration pic.  I used the Stitching Holes dies at the top, the Scripty Word Die Set and the Scripty Word Die Sentiments in the middle, and the Fishtail Banner Die Set One for the background flags.

This is also for:

We hope that you’ll play along!  All the details can be found at the YNS Blog.

You’re An Angel

Hi all!  I haven’t done any non-DT stuff for a while, so here’s my attempt at getting back in the fun challenge game!

AnyaAngel7

I’ve been taking Alyce’s Skin and Hair coloring class over at Kit and Clowder and I’m seeing some definite improvement with my Copic coloring!  Unfortunately I haven’t done the clothing class yet so her dress and bow are a little messed up.

I used Angel Anya from The Greeting Farm and a sentiment from Fine Feathers from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I die cut the French Pastry Doily twice, once from white and once from pink cardstock.  I used my Evolution Advanced die cutting machine and it was super easy to do this technique: with the white cardstock, instead of using a shim to cut out all the details, I just turned the dial up a couple numbers to get it going through the machine really tight.  With the pink cardstock, I turned the dial down 1 number below my normal die cutting level so that the edges would cut out, but none of the details.  Then I glued the white cardstock over the pink and get all the pink details through the white doily without having to worry about all the little bits falling out!

Finally I added a bit of lace that I hand dyed with Distress Inks to match Anya’s hair.

This is for the following challenges:

I hope you like it and TFL!
