You are sure to find lots of inspiration and some great gift ideas along the way! The hop begins on Laura's Blog, and if you've been hopping along, then you should have arrived from Peggy's blog.

You have from today until Saturday, December 21st at midnight (EST) to hop with us! If you leave a comment on all of the blogs along the hop, you could win a $25 YNS Gift Certificate!!! Karen will announce the winners on the YNS Blog on Sunday, December 22nd.

For my project today I made another Fun Journal spread:

Brandi1

The beautiful image is Brandi and the sentiment is from the Holly set.

First I painted with white gesso, then stamped Brandi with black StazOn ink and colored her with a combo of Distress reinkers and InkTense Pencils.  The tree was cut out from a piece of Webster’s Pages patterned paper and glued into the book in 2 pieces.  I cut the Insta Love Polaroid die cut out of matching paper, and flipped the inside piece over and stamped the sentiment on the back.  I rubbed a blue pastel over the edges of the book and glued down the Merry Christmas strip from the same paper as the tree.  I added modeling paste with a polka dot stencil and a bit of bling from Prima.  Finally, I painted some chipboard letters with gold paint and glued them onto 1 side.  I just love how this spread came out and hope you like it too!

Karen is having the biggest Your Next Stamp sale of the year with up to 30% off your order! She needs to blow out some inventory to make room for new stamps and dies!

Dreams Do Come True

Hi all!  Today I’m going to show you something a little different – I’ve been playing around with an old book and am calling it my Fun Journal.  It’s not an Art Journal because not everything I do in it is art, but I definitely have fun with it all, hence the name!

Today’s spread was made for the Little Tangles challenge – White and Gold.  I got all the gold things together in my craft room and went to town!

N&TJournal1

I painted the whole spread with white gesso, then sprayed it with gold Memories Mist.  I added some modeling paste with a harlequin stencil and then cut some wings with my Sizzix wings die.  The wings were painted with gold paint and glued into the book.  Then I embossed the Dreams sentiment in gold tinsel embossing powder and folded it to make a pop-up element in the middle of the book over the wings.  Finally I added the vellum tag with Believer from Santa's Tags and some white twill ribbon with gold baker’s twine.  The very last step was to stamp the little snowflake from the Santa’s Tags set all over with Champagne Encore metallic ink.

I had so much fun making this!!  Hopefully I’ll be showing more fun journal pages in the future!  I hope you like it and TFL!

Special Delivery

Hi all!  Today I have a little mixed media tag using the Tinsel 'N Trim set from Reverse Confetti:

TinselNTrim1

First I die cut an old Sizzix tag from a piece of corrugated cardboard, then tore most of the top layer off.  I made my own stencil by die cutting the Peek-A-Boo Dots die from MFT and used it to give the tag some modeling paste dots.  I then sprayed the whole tag with Memories gold mist and let dry.  I stamped the squiggly image from Tinsel randomly on the tag with black StazOn.

I stamped and cut out a little So Stripey piece with a Tinsel sentiment on top.  I made the flair (sorry for the glare of the light on it) using another Tinsel image layered on top of a snowflake made from Warm Winter Wishes die set from YNS.  The edges of all the pieces were inked with black StazOn and then I assembled them all together.

The final touches are some twill ribbon and Timeless Twine, both stained with Distress Ink.

This is for the following challenges:

I hope you like it and TFL!

YNS New Release After Party

Hi all!  Thanks for joining me for the after party, but don’t forget you still have time to hop!  For my project today, I used Winter Greetings Scene:

WinterScene2

This is a super easy card to make because I didn’t do any coloring – I just stamped the scene in blue ink on blue patterned paper and added some dots of Stickles to the snow.  I used some MFT Blueprints dies and a sentiment from the same set to finish it off.  Hope you like it!

YNS November 2013 Hop Prize

And now for my projects today.  I’ve been wanting to try some mixed media projects so I dipped my toes in the water with this card:

PerfectBlend1
I used the Perfect Blend scene set with some Glitz alphas for my sentiment.  I applied some gesso to a book page (so the print wouldn’t be bold) and then stamped the scene stamp.  I colored with InkTense Pencils and a little water and used Distress Ink on the edges.  Finally I mounted it on more gessoed  book paper with some cheesecloth and dark brown mulberry paper.

For my next project, I have a super cute and fun little box using the new Take Out Box die set that I helped design!!

TakeOutBox1

I cut the box out of 12x12 patterned paper and assembled.  Then I tied it with some red twill ribbon and rustic twine.  Finally I attached a tag with a die cut sentiment  (both from the same die set) so you know there are treats inside!

As always, Karen is offering a fabulous hop discount! You will receive 15% off your entire order through November 27th!

Magic Inside

Hi all!  I have a card today made for the Little Tangles Shaped Card challenge:

SantasTags1

Even though I used the set Santa's Tags, this is not a Christmas card.  It just expresses how I feel about my morning coffee!  I went with the Starbucks colors of white, green and kraft – all cut with my Zing using Make-The-Cut and the Lettering Delights cut set Love You A Latte.  I stamped the sentiment and added some doodle lines with a matching pen.  Finally, I added some rustic twine from May Arts.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Christmas Cheer FF

Hi all!  I have a Fun Friday with Your Next Stamp post for you today!  I went with the card sketch and came up with this:

WinterFunReindeer1

Winter Fun Reindeer was stamped in black on white cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  I added red Stickles to his nose and a sentiment from Holly over his head.  The papers are from Echo Park, the twine is May Arts and the button is amuse studio.

We hope you’ll play along!  All the information you need can be found at the YNS Challenge Blog.  TFL!

hello hexagon cards

Hi all!  I recently got an order from Papertrey Ink (sorry I didn’t do a haul video!) and 1 of things I’ve been playing with a lot is the Hexagon Cover Plate.  I’ve made a bunch of hexagon backgrounds, but didn’t know how to make them into cards until I got this idea from Kristina Werner:

PTIHelloDiecut1

The hello diecut is also from PTI, the flower is an old Prima that I sprayed black, and the flair button is one that I made myself.

Shortly after I finished this card, I came across the PTI Inlaid Die Cuts challenge and knew I had to join in since it is currently one of my fave techniques!  Here’s the inlaid version of the above card:

PTIHelloDiecut2

This was done with some really old Basic Grey papers, an amuse studio flower die and another flair that I made.  I hope you like these and TFL!

This is what the fox says…

Hi all!  I have a really fun card for you today that answers the question, “What does the fox say?”  [If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out the video.]

IntoTheWoods1

I made up this card fold and am calling it the center platform card.  If somebody already made it and called it something else, please let me know – I couldn’t find anything like it after a LOT of searching!  It’s very similar to one I made a long time ago for a WMS Blog Party.

Basically it’s a center step card, but instead of having the steps in the center, it has a platform.  The platform has a space in the center where the cardstock comes together so that you can stick stuff right in there and don’t even need any adhesive!

The fox, word bubble and clouds are from the Into the Woods set, cut with the matching dies, and the woodgrain, heart and sentiment are from the Woodgrain Backdrops set.  I used the MFT grass die and some of the Into the Woods paper for the grass.  Finally, there is a tiny piece of plastic holding the word bubble above the fox’s head.

This is for Lawnscaping challenge – Pinterest Inspired.  I don’t really do Pinterest, so the challenge said I could use something that inspires me and that is the above linked What does the fox say? song.  As soon as I saw the fox and heart word bubble in this set, I knew I wanted to do this little scene!   I hope you like it and TFL!

Winter Wreath

Hi all!  Today I have a card for Avery Elle’s sketch challenge:

WinterWreath1a

I pretty much stuck to the sketch except I moved the bow to the top of the circle.

This is another example of my simple no-lines technique.  The wreath was stamped with a light green ink, then I went over it with colored pencils to get the hand drawn look.  Next, I stamped the bow in pink on a separate sheet of cardstock and colored with pencils.  I fussy cut it out and mounted it onto the wreath.  Finally I stamped the sentiment, went over it with glitter pen, and scattered a few sequins around the wreath.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Ghostly Shine & Haul

Hi all!  I’ve got a card for you today made for the Simon Says Stamp challenge – Halloween or Halloween colors:

SparkleAndShine6

I used the ghost from Spookalicious and a sentiment from Sparkle and Shine.  The clouds were cut with MFT dies and the background stamp is Sunburst.

I’ve also got a haul video for you today – it’s my first order as a new demo (for the 3rd or 4th time! lol!) for Stampin’ Up!

I don’t have a SU! project for you today, but I will soon, so I hope you’ll check back if you’re interested in SU! stuff!  TFL!

Holiday Hello

Hi all!  It’s time for another Your Next Stamp Fun Friday post!  Today I used the sketch with some of our new holiday products to make this:

Holly2

The wreath and bow dies are from the Christmas Tree and Wreath die set and the sentiment is from the Holly stamp set.  I added a bunch of small and medium Gold Nugget Gumdrops to finish it off.  We hope you’ll play along!  Check out all the details at the YNS Challenge Blog.

YNS New Release After Party!

Hi all!  Welcome to the YNS October New Release After Party!  There’s still a little time to hop, so if you haven’t already, please start at Jen's Blog.

Today I have a relatively CAS card for you:

Holly1

The string of lights is from the Snowman Delight die set.  I cut it out of white cardstock, colored it with Copic markers and covered the bulbs with Glossy Accents.  I stamped the greeting from the Holly set twice – once on the polka dot base paper and again on the rustic white cardstock.  You can’t really tell, but the white panel is mounted on foam dots.  I finished the card off with some Holly Berry Red and Olive Green Gumdrops (love those gumdrops!!).  I hope you like it and TFL!

Please check out Karen's blog for the full list of designers that have after party posts!

YNS October 2013 Hop Prizes

Here’s what I came up with today:

First up is a card using the inlay technique that’s so popular right now:

GlitterInlaySnowflakes

I used the inlay technique with the red and green papers and the Snowflake Border cut out of glitter paper.  I also added a snowflake cut with one of the Winter Wishes Snowflakes Dies and a sentiment from the Holiday Diva set.

Next is a card again using the inlay technique – this time with felt:

UglySweater2

I actually made a video showing this card from start to finish and it also shows coloring on felt with Copic markers – I hope you’ll take a look:

Sneaky Peeky

Hi all!  Today I have a little sneak peek of one of my blog hop projects:

UglySweater2b

Hmmm… does he look a little fuzzy to you? ;)

I hope you’ll be back tomorrow to join us for the October YNS New Release Hop!

Celebrate

Hi all!  I have a card made for the current Little Tangles challenge (it’s a sketch):

JustForYouN&T1

I copied the sketch exactly because I just loved it so much!  I did the sentiment (from Just For You) with 5 sequins scattered around it, then a striped border strip (done with On the Strip 2), and finally a dotted border strip (done with Party Dots).  For the dotted strip, I actually cut apart the 3-dot solid and outline images so I could stamp the dots exactly where I wanted.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Sparkle & Shine

Hi all!  I have a card for a couple of challenges today:

SparkleAndShine4

I used the Sparkle and Shine set from Neat & Tangled and a sketch from Retro Sketches.  This is also for Little Tangles – create your own patterned paper.  I did this using most of the stars from the Sparkle and Shine set and 3 different Amuse ink colors.  Then I stamped the sentiment and added a couple more stars which I covered with Glossy Accents.  Finally I went over the sentiment and all the darkest stars with a glitter pen.  I hope you like it and TFL!

You Rock

Hi all!  Just sneaking in a last minute entry into the current Little Tangles challenge – Grey, Yellow & Pink:

SwirlyTwirlyTags1

I used Swirly Twirly Tags for the bird and tag and Sparkle and Shine for the sentiment.  I finished it off with a bit of music washi tape and pink enamel dots.  I hope you like it and TFL!

YNS New Release After Party!

Hi all!  Thanks for joining me for the New Release After Party!  First up, I have a super simple 1-layer card using the gorgeous new Catherine:

Catherine1

She was stamped on a Fabriano note card and watercolored with Distress Reinkers.  I added a sentiment on the bottom from Quirky Animals Set One.  BTW, I have a video on coloring this same image with a combo of Copics and InkTense pencils if you’re interested.

And next up, I promised I’d show you another way to use the Kup Topper stamp set and matching dies that doesn’t have anything to do with K-Cups.  Here they are:

KupToppers2a

I made super simple little gifties with Hershey’s Kisses!  I know you could just decorate the bottoms of the kisses, but I thought this was so much more fun!

I just die cut the large scalloped circle, stamped with colors that matched the kisses, and adhered the kisses to the circle with a little adhesive.  Here’s a different view:

KupToppers2b

Aren’t they adorable?  I was thinking they’d be great little things to leave on a co-worker’s desk just because they made you smile that day , or they’d be a cute little treat in your kid’s lunch box!

I also have a video using the Kup Topper sets with recycled K-Cups if you’d like another idea on using the sets!  I hope you like everything and TFL!

Your Next Stamp September New Release Blog Hop!

YNS September 2013 Hop Badge

Hello and welcome to the September Your Next Stamp New Release Blog Hop!  We have some spooktacular new stamps and dies for you this month and they are available NOW at the YNS Store!  We would love for you to hop along with us for your chance to win one of these adorable new sets:

And now, onto the show!

For my first 2 projects, I used the new scene sets: Autumn Scene and Halloween Scene.AutumnScene1

HalloweenScene1

Both scenes were stamped right onto patterned paper and I added a little color with InkTense pencils for interest.  I wanted to make sure you don’t forget that these line images don’t have to just go on plain cardstock – patterned paper is a fun background!!

For my last project, I used the new Kup Topper stamp set (which I helped design – yay!!) not to top K-Cups as I first intended the set to be used, but to top a cupcake!

KupToppers1

I used an older version of this Cupcake Shaped Box and digital Hello, Again papers to make the cupcake for my topper.  Here’s a closer look at just the topper:

KupToppers1b

I used the paper pad version of Hello, Again for the topper.  I cut out the base circle and the scalloped circle using the Kup Topper die set and then stamped with the Kup Topper stamp set in Amuse inks.  Finally, I cut the button with the same die set and glued it in the middle of the topper (it could be tied on if you prefer).

[For the after hop party, I’ll have another way to use the Kup Toppers sets that’s not on K-Cups so I hope to see you back then!]

As always, Karen is offering some amazing hop specials!  You will receive 15% off your entire order through September 27th!  Online code is YNSSEPT22NR

Elly Framed

Hi all!  I’m back with another Dilly Beans project for the challenge - washi tape:

EllyFramed1

I used Elly Framed and a bunch of the polka dot MME Washi Tape.  The die and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp - Expressions For You stamp and die set.

This is also for the SSS Wednesday challenge – use a product from the SSS store and Divas by Design – Anything Goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Giant Cupcake

Hi all!  Today I have a fun project for you – a giant cupcake box with topper:

JustForYou1

The challenge over at There She Goes is to make a cupcake topper and it has to be displayed with either a real or crafted cupcake – what fun!  I’m no baker so I decided to go with a crafted cupcake. I used the SVG file from the Happy Birthday To You kit and at full size, it turned out pretty big!  I used papers from my Gossamer Blue scrapbook kit for the cupcake and paper from the Hello, Again paper pad for the topper.  Here’s a closer look at the topper:

JustForYou1b

I used the Just For You and JFY - Halloween Additions sets from There She Goes and finished it off with a little orange twine from Timeless Twine.  I hope you like it and TFL!

What A Blast!

Hi all!  Today I have a card made for the TCP Tuesday challenge – paper piecing:

WhatABlast1

I paper pieced PJ the Bear with 2 different papers, the clouds with the same paper as PJ’s muzzle and tummy, and the pinwheel with 2 different papers.  I used a funky blue piece of paper for the sky and a green piece for the grass.  Finally I stamped the sentiment on the same light paper and punched it with a 1” circle punch to go with the background paper.

This is also for Simon Says Stamp – Animal Antics.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Girl & Butterfly

Hi all!  I have a card using a Dilly Beans image for their Challenge – button using their Girl & Butterfly image:

Girl&Butterfly1

I used a really old SEI paper pad and the You clear stamp set from Simon Says Stamp for the sentiment.  She was colored with Copics, the button is from a muse|studio and the sequins are from Avery Elle.  I’m also linking this up to the STAMPtember Project share.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Sparkle & Shine

Hi all!  I have another N&T card for you today (yes, I’m having a ball playing with their stamps!!):

SparkleAndShine3

This is for their Challenge #20 – Back to the Blackboard.  I used Sparkle & Shine and Sunburst and a few clear sequins.  I wanted a little color in there so I added some reddish colored pencil (and a little white colored pencil frame) and reddish cardstock.  The final touch was a little glitter pen on the diamond lines.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Lightbulb

Hi all!  Today I have another Neat & Tangled card – the challenge is to CASE any of the Birthday Bash inspiration projects.  I loved the card that June did on August 30 so here’s my version of it:

SparkleAndShine2

I loved how June cut out a shape and then filled in behind it with sequins so I did the same with the lightbulb from Sparkle And Shine.  I added a piece of acetate stamped with the lightbulb to go over the sequins and finished the card off with the sentiment from the set.  I used the special Birthday Bash sequins – just pulled out a bunch of the gold ones.  LOVE these pretty sequins!!  Hope you like it and TFL!

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

Hi all!  I have another Project Life filler card for you today using the Waltzingmouse Pajama Party Sketch challenge:

FineFeathers2

I used a sentiment from Fine Feathers and the Mini Fanciful Flourish die is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  I added a couple of Martha Stewart butterflies and enamel dots to finish it off.

I also have a card for a couple other challenges using the Simon Says Stamp set Circle Friends:

 CircleFriends1

The sketch is from CAS(E) this Sketch and it’s also for Simon Says Stamp – Animal Antics.  It’s finished off with sequins from Darice and scripty washi tape from A Muse|Studio.  I hope you like them and TFL!
