Giant Cupcake

Hi all!  Today I have a fun project for you – a giant cupcake box with topper:

The challenge over at There She Goes is to make a cupcake topper and it has to be displayed with either a real or crafted cupcake – what fun!  I’m no baker so I decided to go with a crafted cupcake. I used the SVG file from the Happy Birthday To You kit and at full size, it turned out pretty big!  I used papers from my Gossamer Blue scrapbook kit for the cupcake and paper from the Hello, Again paper pad for the topper.  Here’s a closer look at the topper:

I used the Just For You and JFY - Halloween Additions sets from There She Goes and finished it off with a little orange twine from Timeless Twine.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Bee Happy

Hi all!  Today I have a card featuring a cute little freebie from the Karber Facebook Group:

The sentiment is from the Bee Happy set from There She Goes and the papers are Echo Park’s So Happy Together.  This is for the following challenges:

What’s the buzz?

Hi all!  Today I have card made for a couple of challenges:

I used the Bee Happy set and papers from the MME The Sweetest Thing Bluebell paper pad.  I cut the hexagons with my Zing using Make-The-Cut and added a few buttons tied with Timeless Twine to finish it off.

This is for Little Red Wagon – use hexagons, and Simon Says Stamp – use neon, hexagons or chevrons.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Birthday Cake

 

Hi all!  Today I have a fun shaped card for you:

The cake is from the Quirky Treats collection from Lettering Delights and the sentiment is from the Cupcake Mix & Match set from There She Goes.  I cut the card base and overlay with my Zing using Make-The-Cut and added some Stickles and a little Strawberry Cupcake Timeless Twine to finish it off.

Glittered Happy Birthday

Hi all!  Today I have my last card for the 5-day TSG birthday challenges.  This last challenge was to make a birthday project with at least 3 embellishments:

I used the Cupcake Mix & Match set and a sketch from iSpy Sketches.  My embellishments are ribbon, a button tied with crochet thread and Stickles all over my cupcake.

Happy Birthday Sweet Pea

Hi all!  Here’s my card for the 4th challenge at TSG – birthday project with a banner:

I used the Sweet Pea set (the sentiment is included) and a Spellbinders banner which I stamped, cut and embossed.  This is also for CAS-ual Fridays – embossing.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Chill Out!

Hi all!  Today I have my 3rd card for the TSG 4th birthday challenges.  The challenge was an inspiration picture and here’s what I came up with:

I used the colors from the inspiration pic and the set Penguin Love.  I computer generated the “It’s your birthday…” portion of the sentiment, but the “Chill Out!” is from the set.  I used a sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches and really old papers from Daisy Bucket (which is no longer in business).  I hope you like it and TFL!

I didn’t forget…

Hi all!  Today’s There She Goes Challenge is to make a birthday card for a male:

I forgot to take a pic of the inside.  It says “I just wanted to make your birthday last longer!”  Love that sentiment!  The snail and sentiment are both from the TSG set Slow and Steady.

I used a sketch from Retro Sketches and papers from My Mind’s Eye.  This is also for Stamp with Fun – button.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Hi all!  There She Goes is turning 4 this month and is having a week of challenges and I’m going to try and play along with them all!  Here’s the first (birthday project with numbers on it):

I used my old fave Cupcake Mix & Match set and some patterned papers from My Mind’s Eye.  I colored the cherry with copics and gave it a little shadow and paper pieced the liner.  The sentiment is also from the set. 

This is also for The Pink Elephant – use patterned papers and the sketch is FTL#9 from Clean & Simple Stamping.  I hope you like it and TFL!

You give me chills

Hi all!  Today I have a CAS card made using the iSpy sketch:

The snowflakes are all from the Stick Together set and the sentiment is from the Penguin Love set, both from There She Goes. I hope you like it and TFL!

CAS X3

Hi all!  I loved FTL 199 over at Clean & Simple Stamping so much that I made 3 cards with it!

The first (which fits in a business size envelope) uses the Plentiful Petals Die-namics from MFT and a sentiment from Paper Smooches’ Sentiment Sampler:

The second card (which fits in a 6 3/4 envelope) uses an image and 3 sentiment stamps from the Party Posse set (I drew in the parentheses):

The third (which also fits in a 6 3/4 envelope) uses There She Goes’ HSH Holiday Additions.  The wreath itself is a 2 step image and then I paper pieced the bow on some Basic Grey patterned paper and glued it over the wreaths.   The sentiment is also from the same set:

This last card is also for There She Goes – Christmas in July.  I hope you like them and TFL!

Sweet Pea

Today's card was made for the last Wee Memories challenge, which is a sketch challenge. Here's my card:


I used the Sweet Pea set from There She Goes and papers from the My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two (Blush) 6x6 paper pad.

I colored the flowers with Copics and did some straight stitching with my machine. Finally, I finished it off with some twill and a button tied with twine.

TSGBDAY5

For Day 5, There She Goes wanted to see our paper dolls partying. I was pretty stumped for a while, but then as I watched my 2 young boys playing with their plastic food and dishes, I was struck by inspiration!

They had laid out a whole bunch of food on a box like a big buffet, so I managed to get penguin an invitation and he had a blast!


I hope you've enjoyed these past few days of puppet fun as much as I have and tomorrow we'll be back to our regularly scheduled stamping program! TFL!

TSGBDAY2, 3 & 4

Today I'm combining several days' worth of TSG birthday puppet posts:

Day 2's assignment was take our paper dolls out on the town. It was actually my birthday, so I took little penguin with me to eat sushi for my birthday lunch!

BTW - I know we were only supposed to take one picture, but I was having too much fun to stop at just one! :)

On Day 3, they wanted us to take our dolls into the Great Outdoors. Here's Penguin with our newest plant called "Hearts and Flowers":


He had to put on his shades because it was really sunny out there!

And finally, for Day 4 they wanted to see our dolls "in the spotlight." The interpretation of what that means is up to us and I went pretty literal - Penguin starring in his own puppet theater play!


The little theater is from Lettering Delights and instead of cutting out and assembling all the pieces, I just printed the whole theater (after adding the Penguin title) and then cut it out by hand.

Isn't this fun?! I'm going to try really hard to play in all the challenges this week! TFL!

TSGBDAY1

There She Goes is celebrating their third birthday with a week full of challenges and the first one from Monday was a Paper Doll Challenge. I went through all my sets and came across Penguin Love, which is one of my faves so I decided to use it. Here's my paper doll and I also made a tree to shade him from the hot Hawaii sun :)


The next challenge is to photograph your paper doll out on the town so I hope to get some good shots of him tomorrow! TFL!

Your Next Stamp Challenge #31

Yay! I have another Your Next Stamp Challenge today! This time our challenge was chosen by Jenny and is to create a clean and simple Christmas card. I just realized that I goofed a bit and didn't actually make a true Christmas card, but here it is anyway - sorry for my mistake!


I used the really cute and fun Penguin Cheers stamp and a sketch from Card Positioning Systems.

I stamped the image on white cardstock, colored with Copics and colored pencils with odorless mineral spirits, then cut the image out and popped it up on foam boosters. The swirl and sentiment are from There She Goes. I went over the swirls with a Stardust glitter pen and that's it!

Clean & Simple Flower Card

So this card may not be all that clean & simple (the flower has 8 layers, not counting the button center or leaves!), but I got the sketch (FTL 91) from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog so that's what I'm calling it!


I used the Blossom Two Nestabilities (I just love that shape!) for my flower, cutting 4 pieces from the larger size and 4 pieces from the smaller size. 2 of the pieces of each size are the dotted paper and the other 2 pieces are white tulle. Next I sponged some Distress Ink on the paper flowers and then crumpled them up. I uncrumpled the layers then stacked them how I wanted and added the pearl button for a center. The leaves were handcut, sponged and crumpled. All papers are from the DCWV La Creme stack and the sentiment is from the Bloom set from There She Goes.

Fairy Good Day

I have a non-DT card for you today! Jessica of There She Goes does this really cool technique sometimes - you stamp a line art image with a colored ink for the background, then add an image which has been colored and cut out (and usually popped up) on top of the background image. It's this week's challenge on the There She Goes blog and I really love the look so I had to play!

Here's my card:


The sketch is from Sketchy Thursday and I used the Fairy Good Day stamp set (so cute!).

Just a little note - the little fairy village image actually has 2 tiny little fairies included, but I didn't want them in the scene so I just cut them off the stamp! Don't worry - I did keep them so I can add them back into the scene if I like. I hope you like my card and TFL!

Warm Penguin Wishes

Today I have a card that I made for a bunch of challenges, and also because I really wanted to use my Penguin Love set from There She Goes. I got the idea to make a sort of quilt looking card and here's what I came up with:


All the squares are 1.5" and the papers are old Basic Grey. For the little scene squares, I was inspired by this card and other similar cards all by Jessica Knutsen. I couldn't do tone on tone because you'd never see white on white, so I stamped the backgrounds in a light blue ink, and then added the penguins popped up on foam boosters. Each one has some paper pieced clothing all stamped on the same scrap of striped PP.

After I distressed and sponged the edges of all the squares, I sewed them to a piece of Kraft cardstock with a combination of straight and zigzag stitches. Next I diecut a piece of chipboard and some glitter cardstock with a Sizzix snowflake die and glued them together. I poked 2 holes in the snowflake and then sewed it with a button to the quilt with crochet thread. I also sewed on all the other buttons with crochet thread. Lastly I sponged the edges of the white base and glued the quilt to it.

Happy Day Scene

I have another Pile It On! card for you today. Our theme this week is "Fall Challenge - use a leaf/leaves on your project." Here's my card:


I used the Happy Day set from There She Goes and this cool sketch from Get Sketchy (flipped upside down):


I wanted to share something with you - sometimes when I use a really complicated sketch, I'll make a scrap paper version so I know what sizes to cut my papers:


It really helps me to not waste patterned papers by cutting them in the wrong sizes (except in this case where I tried about 3 different papers before settling on the blue one!).

This card was pretty simple (once I figured out my pattern). I paper pieced the tree, grass and bird, and distressed all the edges of the sketch pieces. All the paper is from the Nutmeg Mini Deck from Cosmo Cricket. Lastly, I added some cross stitches with crochet thread for a little interest.
