Hi all! Yesterday I got a Brighton catalog in the mail and was immediately drawn to this large handbag:
I was so inspired, I decided to make a card based on it. Here’s what I came up with:
I used The Ton’s Large Peony 1 and Fresh Cut Dahlias (sentiment), the Folk Art Medallion set from WMS, and also the Circular Lattice stencil from Prima. I sponged white pigment ink through the stencil to make a guide for my stamping. I then stamped 2 different little motifs from the Medallion set to make up the background.
I stamped the peony on watercolor paper and watercolored with Distress Inks (Festive Berries and Black Soot), then cut it out with my ScanNCut2. I added the sentiment on a fishtail banner, then popped up the peony with foam tape.
The little elf is from Christmas Spirit and the sentiment is from Jingle Greetings, both from Mama Elephant. NOTE: I finished the card then decided I wanted the sentiment gold embossed, but I lost the stamp set!! I’ve been looking and looking and know it will turn up just when I’m done needing it! lol!
I stamped the elf with Memento ink, colored with Copics, then overstamped with Versafine. Finally, I cut him out using my ScanNCut2.
All images were stamped in Sno Cone dye ink and watercolored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added in the eyes and mouths, legs on the bird, and arms on the snowmen with a brown Tombow brush marker. I drew in ground lines with a Zig marker and covered them with white glitter. Then I masked off the 2 small portions and applied glitter paste through a snow stencil for a sparkly snowfall.
Hi all! Today I have a card made for Uniko’s challenge – Geometrics with the optional twist of circles, triangles, or squares. Here’s what I came up with:
I used a couple of Uniko sets: Today, Tomorrow, Always Extra Time and Background Builders: Round in Circles. First I stamped the circle border in dark brown hybrid ink diagonally across the front of the white card base, then I cut around it with scissors. I adhered the brown patterned paper behind the front of the card base and stamped the clock and hands. Finally I stamped the sentiment. All stamping was done with the MISTI.
Hi all! It’s time for new sketch and color challenges over at the YNS Blog. Here’s the color challenge photo:
And here’s the sketch:
I used the sketch and came up with this:
I used Waddles - Homemade with Love and the Stitched Rectangle die set. Waddles was stamped with my MISTI and Memento ink, then colored with Copics. I then used the MISTI to overstamp with Versafine ink. I added the sentiment with Versafine and colored the hearts with Copics (you can use Copics with Versafine if you don’t color over the lines). Finally I added a little heart charm and a hemp twine bow. The papers are from Lawn Fawn.
You can see how some of the other DT members played the challenge at the YNS Blog. TFL and I hope you’ll play along with us!
Hi all! Today I have a card made for the Power Poppy Challenge – Bits and Pieces (use just part of an image). Here’s what I came up with:
I used just a part of the Sunflower Power image, cropped in Photoshop Elements to make a clear card. I printed it out twice on watercolor paper and watercolored with Distress Inks. Then I cut out the leaves and part of the flower with a combination of my ScanNCut2 and scissors. I layered the pieces on top with foam tape. I added glitter paste through the Falling Stars Stencil to the front of the clear card and adhered my pieces (image on the front and black mat on the back to hide the adhesive) Finally I added a little tag with a sentiment from Mini Messages and just a bit of watercoloring.
Here’s what the inside looks like:
And here’s an angled shot so you can see the dimension:
This is also for Cute Card Thursday – Sparkles (the stars are glittered). I hope you like it and TFL!
I used my new Mama Elephant sets Twinkle Towns and Jingle Greetings. I set up all 3 stamps on my MISTI, changing the position of the focal panel and using bumpers so the stamps could go off the edges of the panel. The panel was cut using the Stitched Rectangle die set from Your Next Stamp.
For the pine needles, I stamped in the lighter green dye ink first, then used a flat paintbrush to add a little of the darker green to the bottoms of the needles and stamped again with the MISTI. I added the sentiment in red and finished off with a bit of white glitter on the branches to look like snow.
The picture looks a tad funny because this is actually a clear card! Here’s a shot of the front of the card when it’s open:
I used the (retired) Glitter Bean from TGF. She was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink 2 times (using the MISTI) on watercolor paper and embossed with Detailed Clear embossing powder. I then watercolored her with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush. I cut out the main panel with the Stitched Rectangle Die Set, stuck it to the front of the clear card, and stuck a mat piece of black cardstock to the inside front of the card.
Here’s how I finished off the inside:
I created the plaid background with the Candy Stripes Background Builder and some MFT dye inks and the MISTI. I added a white panel the same size as the front panel and a black mat over the plaid to write a message.
This is also for ABC Challenge – T is for Two (I used 2 colors besides black and white) and Cute Card Thursday – Anything Goes. I hope you like it and TFL!
Hi all! It’s time for another Your Next Stamp Feature Day where we showcase YNS products new and old, according to a theme. This month our theme is Fall and here’s my card:
Sandy was stamped with Versafine ink and clear embossed, then watercolored. She was cut out with the matching die and foam mounted on a patterned paper square, which was also stamped and embossed with a sentiment from the set. Finally, I added the gumdrops and mounted everything on a cream card base.
You can see all the other interpretations of the DT for Feature Day over at the YNS Blog. While you’re there, be sure to comment for a chance to win the stamp set of your choice! TFL!
I stamped the elf from Santa's Elves with Memento ink using my MISTI and colored with Copics. Then I overstamped with Versafine Ink to make the black lines darker and crisper. I cut him out using my Scan N Cut 2.
Using the MISTI, I stamped the 2 different sentiments repeatedly on the card base and then mounted the elf on top with foam tape. I hope you like it and TFL!
Sprinkles was colored with Copics and mounted on the shaker panel with foam tape. I stamped all the sentiment parts using my MISTI and trimmed it down with my paper trimmer. The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.
For the shaker bits, I used the Snowdrift Sparkly Shaker Selection. For the shaker itself, I just fused/cut some page protector plastic with my woodburning tool and adhered the front frame and back square to the plastic with my ATG gun. The final bit is some red velvet ric-rac from May Arts.
You can see all the DT inspiration over at the YNS Blog where you can comment for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice. TFL!
The bunny was stamped and colored with Copics. I mounted her on the circle with foam tape and both the image and sentiment were stamped with brown hybrid ink.
Hi all and welcome to my stop on the October Your Next Stamp New Release Hop! If you’ve been following the links, you should have arrived here from Kymona’s Blog. However, if you’ve just happened upon my blog, you’ll want to go back to the beginning at Kendra’s Blog (links at bottom of post) because you won’t want to miss a bit of the eye candy!
I’m so excited about this release! I didn’t design any of it, but I love it all anyway! We’ve got new Waddles and Sprinkles sets and I adore those cute characters! We’re also debuting a new character – Sandy the Squirrel! Well, enough chatter, let’s get to my projects!
Every so often I talk about how these line drawings sets are still great even if you don’t love to color and here’s an example of that. I used just the leaves from the set and did some really rough coloring with some fall-ish colored Copics. Then I used the Stitching Holes Die Set above and below my stamped/colored area and stitched with some rustic twine. I added the sentiment above and a few Give Thanks for Sparkle Gumdrops.
I altered it with Make The Cut and turned the balloon cut out panel solid so that I could cut a window out with the new Stitched Banner Die Set. I stamped the image from Santa’s Helpers and colored with Copics, then cut out with the matching die. Before adding the image with foam tape, I used a stencil and embossing paste to make some snow in the background. I white embossed a sentiment from the same set and assembled the card, adding some patterned paper panels.
The card also folds closed and I tied it shut with some twill tape:
It doesn’t fold flat for mailing, but soon I’ll be showing how to alter it even more so that it will fold flat! Stay tuned!
As is always the case, there is a fabulous prize to be won – a $25 YNS Gift Certificate. A winner will be drawn at random from all the comments on all the blogs.

I stamped the images with Memento ink and colored with Copics. Then I cut them out with the matching dies and put foam tape on the backs. I cut all the patterned paper pieces and stamped the sentiment on the small orange piece then put it all together. Since today is Watcha Watching? Wednesday over at the YNS Blog, I have a video on the making of this card over there.
I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and this is also for MarkerPOP – Anything Goes with markers.
You can also check the YNS blog to see all the designers that are sharing peeks today. I hope you like this card and that I’ll see you back here tomorrow for the New Release Hop!
Hi all! I’m back after a week’s vacation in California with my family. We had a blast! Anyway, I have a card for The Cat's Pajamas – CASE one of the designer’s card shown on the blog. I chose the one by Lori Tecler and came up with this:
I used the set Raising Cane from TCP. I stamped the bunny with Memento ink using my MISTI and colored with Copics. Then I overstamped with Versafine and the MISTI. I then cut it out using my Scan N Cut 2 (I used the RGB recognition mode and it came out great). I stamped the sentiment and colored in bits with a green Copic because I thought it needed a little something. Finally I added a few sequins.
This is also for SSS Wednesday Challenge – Clean and Simple Christmas, and Crazy 4 Challenges – All Dressed Up (bunny dressed in Santa hat). I hope you like it and TFL!
You can see from the top portion that I just attached part of the vine to a little block I had and stamped it over and over to make the little hill. For the sheep, he was stamped with my MISTI in Memento ink, colored with Copics, and overstamped with Versafine ink. I cut the sentiment stamp so I could stamp the words on top of each other (I find cutting them apart easier than masking off portions). I hope you like it and TFL!
I used the set Heart Diamonds from The Ton and watercolored with Picked Raspberry Distress Reinker. The heart diamonds were all embossed in gold, as was the sentiment.
Hi all! I’m going to try and crank out some cards today in honor of WCMD, so be prepared for some posts!
I’m starting with this card:
I used the sold out Stamptember set from SSS and Lawn Fawn called Merry Christmouse and the French Pastry Doily. I stamped them with my MISTI with Memento ink, colored with Copics, and overstamped with Versafine. I then cut them out with my new Scan N Cut 2.
This is for Power Poppy – sketch, non-traditional Holiday colors, and bling (the doily was cut from glitter cardstock) and Cheery Lynn Designs – anything goes and use Cheery Lynn product, and SSS WCMD challenge - anything goes. I hope you like it and TFL!
Hi all! I’m here with the new challenges over at the YNS Blog.
And here’s what I came up with:
As you can see, I went with both the color and sketch challenges this time. I watercolored a panel with 2 shades of purple paint then cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle die. I added 2 diecuts from the Spooky Halloween Scene die set, and a stamped bat from the Halloween Phoebe stamp set. I added a white panel that was also cut with the Stitched Rectangle die set tied with some black twine and a little star charm. Finally all that was mounted on a black card base.
