Hello

It's me.  :)  I have a card today for a couple challenges.

The first challenge is from Papertrey Ink - to be inspired by a piece of clothing.  I just recently got this dress from Gap:

I loved the black on black dots and the velvet texture of the dots and this is what I came up with:

I applied Graphite texture paste through the Falling Hearts stencil and let dry.  Then I used the hello die and cut it from black craft foam, black cardstock (PTI), and black glitter paper.  I layered them together and mounted on a plain strip of black cardstock.

This is also for Crafty Creations - Hearts.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Two Toned Birthday

Hi all!  Today I have a card made for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday – Two Toned Sentiments:

EmbellishedElegance1

I used the PTI set Embellished Elegance and it’s matching die set, as well as the Diagonal Die Cover Plate.  And of course I used the MISTI because this technique was made for the MISTI!

This is also for SSS Wednesday Challenge – No Designer Paper.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Hello

Hi all!  Today I have a super simple CAS card:

Hello3

Once again, I used the Wonderful Words: Hello set from Papertrey.  Using my MISTI, I stamped the hello in white on Kraft cardstock, also from PTI.  Using Polychromos colored pencils, I colored the hello in shades of blue for an ombre pattern.  Then I put it back in my MISTI and overstamped the hello with Versamark ink and embossed with clear powder.

This is for the PTI Blue Ombre challenge.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Hello Sunshine

Hi all!  Here’s my card for today:

Hello2

I used the Hello mini stamp set, Summer Sunshine ink and cardstock, all from PTI.  This is for the Inspired by Maile Belles challenge.  I was inspired by THIS POST from Maile, specifically the treatment on the last card.

I used my MISTI to stamp the hello exactly where I wanted it, then cut it into 2 pieces.  I lined up the pieces with a little gap over the Summer Sunshine card base and stamped and embossed the word sunshine in white EP.  Then I foam mounted the 2 white pieces onto the card base.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Heartfelt Thanks

Hi all!  I have a card for a couple challenges today:

EverydayClassics1

I used the Everyday Classics set from Papertrey Ink and followed the Make It Monday instructions for pieces behind the heart.  I cut out a 3x4 journaling card and cut out a Spellbinders heart from it.  I stamped a sentiment near the bottom, then adhered the pie chart piece to the back of the card and cut the excess off.  I embossed a blue cardstock piece with a Stampin’ Up! dot folder and put the whole card together.

This is for Crafty Creations – Blues and also Daring Cardmakers – January Blues.  I hope you like it and TFL!

With Sympathy

Hi all!  I don’t usually do sympathy cards, but the Papertrey Make It Monday showed a sympathy card so I decided to go with it:

BeautifulBlooms4

I used the leaf branch Beautiful Blooms and a sentiment from Mega Mixed Messages.  The stitched fishtail tag is from YNS, the dotted butterfly die and heart die are from Spellbinders and the vellum butterfly die is Papertrey also.

This is for Make It Monday – Sympathy Cards and Stamped Borders and Loves Rubberstamps – Anything Goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

PTI Blog Hop

Hi all!  I’m squeezing in a last minute entry into the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  This month’s theme is to get inspiration from embroidered patterns.  I got inspiration from this coin purse wallet and came up with this:

BeyondBasicBorders4

The flower was stamped with Beautiful Blooms and the vine and sentiment are from Beyond Basic Borders.  I stamped the images with colored inks and then pierced and hand stitched the coordinating embroidery floss colors over the stamped images.  Finally, stitched on a button and mounted the panel on foam tape.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Easter Bunny

Hi all!  Today I have a card for a few challenges:

PolkaDotParadeOne1

I bought this Polka Dot Parade #1 stamp and die set ages ago and just got around to using it for this card.  The sketch is from CAS(E) this Sketch and the color combo is from Color Throwdown.

I made the cloud masks with the Puffy Cloud die set from YNS and the grass was cut with the Grassy Edges die.  You can’t see it, but the tail is popped up on foam tape and has white flocking on it.  To finish it off, I added a sentiment from the same set and some Doodlebug sequins.

This is also for Simon Says Stamp – Happy Easter and/or Sweet Treats and Divas By Design – Easter/Spring.  Hope you like it and TFL!

1st Birthday

Hi all!  My cousin is having a party tomorrow to celebrate the first birthday of his son so of course I had to make a card!

BirthdayBasics1

I used a really old DCWV stack that I’ve had forever, the Heart Doily die set from YNS, and an old Quickutz die for the number 1.  The sketch is from Unscripted Sketches and the sentiment was done with the Birthday Basics stamp set from PTI.

This is also for Time Out Challenge – birthday with the added twist of a masculine birthday.  I know this card isn’t super macho, but it’s still meant for a male so I hope it counts!  I hope you like it and TFL!

REALLY Exciting News & Make It Monday

Yes, I do know it’s not Monday, but today I’m playing along with Papertrey Ink’s Make It Monday – stamping with watercolor mediums.  Buuuuuut, before I get to that, I want to burst with excitement because of this announcement!!  I wanted to win SOoooooo badly and I finally did this year!!  Yay!!

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming: I was playing with my watercolor crayons and having fun so I decided to make a little video:

Here’s the finished card:

 ButterflyDreams2

And my sad attempt to finish the inside (which I almost never do, but really should work on!):

ButterflyDreams2b

I used the Butterfly Dreams stamp set and matching die, the Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper and Sparkly Purple Gumdrops from Your Next Stamp.  The sketch is from the Sweet Sunday sketch challenge and I got my Neocolor II set through Amazon.com.  I hope you like it and TFL!

More Faux Letterpress

Hi all!  Yes, I’m still playing with my faux letterpress technique – this time I used both sides of the folder for a positive and negative effect:

BeyondBasicBorders3

I used an old Cuttlebug folder and Blush ink from A Muse|Studio.  I tied some A|S ribbon around the panels to cover up the seam and finished it off with an old Quickutz tag stamped with a sentiment from Beyond Basic Borders.

Here’s a closer view to see the texture:

BeyondBasicBorders3b

The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches and this is also for CASology – keyword Blush.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Thanks Diagonals

Hi all!  Today I have a card that was made for the Papercrafts March Gallery Challenge  - use the colors Mint and Melon:

Diagonals1

I used a Calypso Coral cardstock base that was embossed in white with a graphic from the Diagonals stamp set from PTI.  Then I used the Diagonals Die set to cut out pieces of white PTI cardstock.  I stamped them with graphics from the Diagonals Additions mini set using (retired) Mint Melody ink.  I then popped up the pieces on foam boosters.  The sentiment was also embossed in white and is from ME - Many Thanks.  The final touch was a bunch of stars cut from Mint Melody cardstock using the Confetti die and topped with Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and Glossy Accents.

I hope you like it and if you’ve got an extra minute, why not check out the other entries in the Gallery?  Some great stuff to be seen there!  TFL!

Happy Spring

Hi all!  I know it’s a little early for this card, but I just felt like playing with some bright, happy colors!

MightyOak1

I used the new (to me) Mighty Oak stamp set and cover plate that I just got from PTI and some Distress Ink colors (Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers).  I added a sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set from YNS, grass cut with an MFT die and some Avery Elle sequins.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and this is also for Little Red Wagon – Yearning for Spring and Allsorts – Spring is Coming.   I hope you like it and TFL!

Moxie Fab: Hexagons

Hi all!  Today’s card is for the Hexagons: Happy for Hexagons Challenge in the Moxie Fab World:

Hexagon1

First I took Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks and sponged them all over a piece of white cardstock.  Then I die cut the cardstock using the Hexagon Cover Plate from Papertrey Ink.  I stuck all the hexagons down on another piece of white cardstock and added the outline portion of the die to the top of the hexagons, slightly shifted over.  Next, I cut out a journaling card shape with the Journaled Weekly Die Set from Your Next Stamp.

I spattered some Heidi Swapp black mist over a card base and adhered the hexagon card over it.  I added a black thanks die from the Quote Tag dies and rounded all four corners with the 1/2” Corner Chomper.  I hope you like it and TFL!

hello hexagon cards

Hi all!  I recently got an order from Papertrey Ink (sorry I didn’t do a haul video!) and 1 of things I’ve been playing with a lot is the Hexagon Cover Plate.  I’ve made a bunch of hexagon backgrounds, but didn’t know how to make them into cards until I got this idea from Kristina Werner:

PTIHelloDiecut1

The hello diecut is also from PTI, the flower is an old Prima that I sprayed black, and the flair button is one that I made myself.

Shortly after I finished this card, I came across the PTI Inlaid Die Cuts challenge and knew I had to join in since it is currently one of my fave techniques!  Here’s the inlaid version of the above card:

PTIHelloDiecut2

This was done with some really old Basic Grey papers, an amuse studio flower die and another flair that I made.  I hope you like these and TFL!

Just a Note

Hi all!  I watched a couple of videos on Jennifer McGuire’s blog today, namely this one on creating a colorful masked card and this one on ghost stamping on kraft.  I loved them both so much that I had to play right away and I decided to combine both of her card ideas into one: a colorful masked card with ghost stamping on kraft.  Phew!  That a mouthful!  Here’s the card:

BeautifulBlooms3

I used the Beautiful Blooms set from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is from the Sentiment Sampler set from Paper Smooches.  The white ink is Stampin’ Up! and all the rest of the inks are from a·muse|studio.  The twine is also from PTI.

This is also for CAS-ual Fridays – stamp your own background.  I hope you like it and TFL!
