Happy Easter Box Card

Hi all! Today I have a box card for you using The Greeting Farm images and a bunch of Lawn Fawn dies:

I should have taken some pics during the process, but I was actually filming it on my phone and it didn't go well, so no pics or video!  Anyway, I'll tell you what all I did :)

I felt like doing colored pencils on kraft and making a whole kraft project, so I did!  I stamped all the images (some multiple times) with Gina K.'s black amalgam ink on the Toned Tan paper with my MISTI then colored with colored pencils and blended with Zest It.  I put it back in the MISTI and overstamped with Versafine because it gives such a nice black, crisp line.

Unfortunately I don't have dies for this set so I cut them out with my Scan N Cut.  Apparently my SNC had a little difficulty with the tan background so I had to trim off some weird extra bits with scissors.

The box parts were cut out of Papertrey Ink kraft cardstock and the patterned paper is from the Doodlebug kraft 6x6 paper pad.  Then I just assembled everything (make sure to put in that paper for the back panel before you assemble because it's harder once the box is put together).  Most were just stuck on with my ATG gun, but a few things were popped up on foam tape.

I hope you like my project and TFL!  ~Maureen

Cuddly Thanks

Hi all!  Today I have a card for several challenges:

CuddlyThanks1

I used the clear set Cuddly Thanks from The Greeting Farm.  Using my MISTI, I stamped the fox on Georgia Pacific white cardstock with Memento ink and colored him with Copics.  Then I overstamped with Versafine.  I made a reusable mask of the fox and fussy cut it out, covered the fox with it, and stamped the stump with Memento.  I colored that with Copics and overstamped with Versafine.

I used my ScanNCut2 to cut out the image with a small border and foam mounted it on my card.  I stamped the sentiment in Versafine and added a few sequins.

This is for the following challenges:

I Dare You

Hi all!  Today I have a card for The Greeting Farm’s challenge – black, orange, and purple:

GlitterBean1a

The picture looks a tad funny because this is actually a clear card!  Here’s a shot of the front of the card when it’s open:

GlitterBean1b

I used the (retired) Glitter Bean from TGF.  She was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink 2 times (using the MISTI) on watercolor paper and embossed with Detailed Clear embossing powder.  I then watercolored her with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush.  I cut out the main panel with the Stitched Rectangle Die Set, stuck it to the front of the clear card, and stuck a mat piece of black cardstock to the inside front of the card.

Here’s how I finished off the inside:

GlitterBean1c

I created the plaid background with the Candy Stripes Background Builder and some MFT dye inks and the MISTI.  I added a white panel the same size as the front panel and a black mat over the plaid to write a message.

This is also for ABC Challenge – T is for Two (I used 2 colors besides black and white) and Cute Card Thursday – Anything Goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

You’re An Angel

Hi all!  I haven’t done any non-DT stuff for a while, so here’s my attempt at getting back in the fun challenge game!

AnyaAngel7

I’ve been taking Alyce’s Skin and Hair coloring class over at Kit and Clowder and I’m seeing some definite improvement with my Copic coloring!  Unfortunately I haven’t done the clothing class yet so her dress and bow are a little messed up.

I used Angel Anya from The Greeting Farm and a sentiment from Fine Feathers from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I die cut the French Pastry Doily twice, once from white and once from pink cardstock.  I used my Evolution Advanced die cutting machine and it was super easy to do this technique: with the white cardstock, instead of using a shim to cut out all the details, I just turned the dial up a couple numbers to get it going through the machine really tight.  With the pink cardstock, I turned the dial down 1 number below my normal die cutting level so that the edges would cut out, but none of the details.  Then I glued the white cardstock over the pink and get all the pink details through the white doily without having to worry about all the little bits falling out!

Finally I added a bit of lace that I hand dyed with Distress Inks to match Anya’s hair.

This is for the following challenges:

Fairy Chloe

Today I actually have a non-Valentine's card for you! lol!

FairyChloe2a
This was made for the Farm Fresh challenge - have some dimension in your project. I used Fairy Chloe (I used the old rubber version, but now she's available in the Fairy Princess clear set from The Greeting Farm.

I stamped her on acetate for her wings and Stickled the back. The next layer is Chloe without her wings, then extra hair on top of her head and a paper pieced dress that is popped up on the bottom. Here's a shot to show all that dimension:

FairyChloe2b
This is also for the Day 3 sketch at Card Positioning Systems and Charisma Cardz - Things with Wings. I hope you like it and TFL!

Fairy Tink

Today I have a card made for the iCopic Weekly Challenge - red hair. I've never done red hair with Copics before, so this really was a challenge for me. Luckily I got a nice color combo off the internet and was able to do my first auburn/red hair coloring:

FairyTink1
I used Fairy Tink from The Greeting Farm. I bought her as a rubber single, but it appears she's now only available as part of the Fairy Princess clear set. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday and the patterned papers are all from the Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends Mini Deck.

I paper pieced her dress and used some old Stickles on her wings. The sentiment is from a·muse|studio and the bracket edger and doily dies are from My Favorite Things.

The colors I used for her hair were E13, E17, E18 and E19.

This is also for the following challenges: I hope you like it and TFL!

Back to School Notebook

I have a non-card project today! It's a little covered notebook that I've had in my things-to-alter box forever:

I wanted to play in the In Style Stamps Wednesday Challenge, but the theme is Back to School and I didn't have any suitable images from In Style. Then I thought maybe I could alter the Mellie image by covering up her birthday cake with some apples and it worked!

I stamped a bunch of apples from The Greeting Farm's Wishing Tree set, colored with Copics and cut them out. I colored Mellie with Copics and then glued all the apples over the cake. It's like she has an apple for each of her new teachers!

I finished off the front with a piece of paper taken from the book and punched with the notebook paper punch, a bit of patterned paper, ribbon and a couple buttons. BTW - the notebook is about 3.25" wide and 4.5" tall.

Other challenges: I hope you like it and TFL!

Timmy

For this week's Softpencil card, I have a new character to introduce you to - say hello to Timmy! If you hop around to the other DT members' blogs, you should be able to find Tommy too!

My card uses the image called Timmy and their toys:

We also got to use these great Softpencil digital papers. I just sized down the papers a little and printed them both on the same sheet of cardstock as my Timmy image. I colored Timmy and the toys with Copics, and then inked and distressed all my pieces. Since this is a boy card, I used twine and star eyelets instead of my usual ribbon and flowers! I also added a star charm to keep with the star theme.

I used a sketch from the Digital Tuesday Challenge:

I hope you like it and TFL!

Other materials used: sentiment - The Greeting Farm; blue cardstock - Bazzill; Old Olive cardstock - Stampin' Up!; twine - Papertrey Ink; charm - eBay; eyelets from stash.

Owl be there

Today's card was made for a few challenges starting with this Mojo Monday sketch:

The other challenges for this card were the Roses on Paper Challenge 17 - use hearts (and also one of the specified stamp companies) and the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #18, from which I was inspired to use an owl, the colors blue and green, hearts and flowers.

And here's my card:

I used The Greeting Farm's Forest Friends set because it is one of the specified companies for Roses on Paper and also because the owl is super cute! I colored the owl with Copics and then cut it and the attached branch out completely. Here's a little tip - if your cutting isn't perfect (and mine never is!) and you have some slivers of white showing, instead of trying to cut them off and risk cutting too much (which always happens to me), I just color over the white with a matching Copic. In this case I used a dark brown on the owl and a dark green on the branch because my black tends to bleed too much.

For the rest of the card, I did a bunch of Stardust glitter pen on the top flower and also all over the dots on the patterned paper. The little rhinestones on the corners of the white square are hearts and I also used a hanging heart charm. The sentiment is from the same set and I inked the edges of each piece so they wouldn't be so stark white. I hope you like it and TFL!

Other materials used: patterned paper - DCWV Latte stack; ribbon - May Arts; flowers - Prima; Ripe Avocado ink - Papertrey Ink; brads - Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts; circle and petite scalloped circle Nestabilities; tiny rhinestones - eBay; bead cap and chain - Firemountain Gems; charm from stash.

Doraline - Surprise!

I recently won a gift certificate to The Craft Barn from a challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot and I knew that I wanted to get a Motivet stamp. I just recently came across this company and I immediately fell in love with their adorable images. I decided to get Doraline - Surprise! and I received her just in time to make a card for the Motivet sketch challenge.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:

I colored the entire image with Copics, then sponged the outer edges with yellow ink. The light pink layer was punched with the EK Success candles slim edger punch and the Surprise sentiment is from The Greeting Farm's Happy Chef set. I hope you like it and TFL!

Other materials used: patterned paper - Fancy Pants; flowers - Prima; ribbon - May Arts; pearls - MimiLolo Etsy store; metal bookplate - Stampin' Up!; long rectangle Nestabilities.

Hello Goldfish

ETA: This card got me picked as the very first featured artist at Paper Blooms!! Woohoo! Check it out!

Today I have another multiple challenge card using The Greeting Farm's Down By The Pond set:

I stamped and colored the goldfish 3 times and then cut out and popped up the pieces with foam tape. You don't need to color all the layers, but sometimes I do anyway so there won't be white parts showing underneath the layer edges. After coloring, I dotted the fish with my colorless blender to make spots that look like scales. I didn't do the face though because I thought it might look creepy.

Here's a shot with flash so you can see the Stardust glitter pen I added:

And here's another close shot so you can see some of the dimension of the fish:

Challenges: I hope you like it and TFL!

Other materials used: sentiment - The Greeting Farm (Wonderland set); patterned papers - My Mind's Eye; flowers - Prima; clear Dew Drops - Robin's Nest; orange Bella's Baubles - Stamping Bella; plain and scalloped circles Nestabilities - Spellbinders; Cuttlebug tag die - Provo Craft; brads and ribbon - Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts; rhinestones - eBay seller.

Pile It On Flutter Birthday

Today's card was made for several challenges, including Pile It On's Challenge #6, which is a super fun sketch created by Dalis:

And here's my take on it:

For the sentiment, I followed this tutorial by Debbie Olson. I stamped the letters at different heights to mimic the look of those cute little letter stickers that everyone's using but I'm too cheap to buy! I colored Flutter Anya with Copics and glittered her wings with my usual Stardust/water brush method, then cut her out and popped her up on foam tape. She's got tiny heart rhinestones on her wings, and a little Prima flower with a homemade flocked brad in her hair. I also glittered the little flower.

Here's a closer shot of her:

And now for the challenges:
  • Pile It On - Challenge #6 Sketch #1.
  • 365 Cards - Challenge #132 Picture This. I was inspired to make a birthday card and I think the sentiment looks like candles on a cake.
  • Belli Challenge - Challenge #69 Texture. I used a piece of velvet ric rac and I also flocked the brad in her hair.
  • Stamp Simply - Challenge #95 Let the Sparks Fly. I glittered the flower and her wings.
Only 4 challenges today, but that's fine with me! I hope you like it and TFL!

Other materials used: white cardstock - Georgia Pacific; patterned paper - Basic Grey (Urban Prairie 6x6 paper pad); alphabet stamps - CTMH; Spring Moss ink - Papertrey Ink; velvet ric rac - May Arts; D'Vine Swirls embossing folder - Provo Craft; Petite Oval Nestabilities.

Hey Sunshine

Today's card was made for a bunch of challenges that I'll describe below.

I used TGF's Rain Snow Shine set and a sentiment from Hanna Stamps' Things Hanna Would Say set. Anya was colored with Copics and cut out. I put dimensional adhesive on her sunglasses and tiny little rhinestone flowers on her bow and slippers. The beach background was airbrushed then I added some white gel pen for foam at the water's edge and some Stardust glitter pen to the water. I also added glitter pen to the sentiment. You can see the details a little better in this close shot:

Now for the challenges (7 in all - a new record for me!):

  • Pile It On - use 4 or more buttons (and of course combine with at least one other challenge)
  • Our Creative Corner - sketch
  • Charisma Cardz - create any project
  • Stamp Something - use at least 3 embellishments (can be 3 of the same 'bellie)
  • 2RedBananas - inspiration picture (beach scene)
  • Use It! - (a multi challenge all in itself!) use something inspired by nature (the sand dollar charm), use polka dots, use your favorite embellishment (a tie between ribbon and buttons - I used both!), and mail your creation to someone special.
  • The Greeting Farm - polka dots
TFL and I hope you like it!

Other materials used: patterned paper - Imaginisce (A Shore Thing collection); cardstock - Papertrey Ink (Summer Sunrise), Bazzill (Cajun); ink - Tsukineko (Graphite Black Brilliance), Papertrey Ink (Summer Sunrise); long classic and scalloped Nestabilities; ribbon - Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts; buttons - Papertrey Ink (Lemon Tart); sand dollar charm from stash.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #12

I just found a blog that has a cupcake inspiration challenge every week, so you know I HAD to play! The blog is Hope Stamps Eternal and this week is Challenge #12.

Just like with the other cupcake inspiration challenge I played in, I chose to recreate the actual cupcake as closely as I could. I loved the lacy cupcake liner and the contrast of the flowers against the chocolate frosting. Here's my card:

And here's a close shot of the cupcake:

To make the cupcake, I stamped one of the images from The Greeting Farm's Susie Surprise set on Dark Chocolate cardstock with the matching ink and cut out just the top. Then I drew an appropriately sized bottom to match. I didn't use the bottom of the original image because I wanted my cupcake to have a bigger bottom. I cut the liner portion out of a paper doily I've had forever and the "cake" from some Saffron cardstock. The final touch is a Prima flower with a little pearl center.

The sentiment is from the Happy Chef set, all the patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Porcelain paper pad, and I used the Doily Lace Edge punch for the border. I hope you like it and TFL!

Two For One Greeting Farm

I've got 2 projects to share today, both using stamps from The Greeting Farm. An altered jumbo clothespin and a card:

First the card:

I used the Miss Anya Collection and a sentiment from the Wonderland set. I used a sketch from Papercrafts magazine and some really old patterned paper from My Mind's Eye.

She was colored with Copics, entirely cut out (even those skinny little flower stems and leaves), and popped up with foam tape. The scalloped panel was airbrushed to match and I did a bunch of machine stitching on the card. Lastly I added a tiny little heart pearl to her hair bow, 2 micro half pearls for her shirt buttons, and bitty butterfly punches on either side of the sentiment.

And the clothespin:

I stamped Flutter Anya on cardstock, colored with Copics, and cut her out, minus the wings. I also stamped her on acetate and "colored" the back with 3 different colors of glitter. I added white dots and filled in the little hearts with white permanent marker also. Then I cut out the wings and mounted them behind the Anya with foam tape.

Here's a close shot so you can see her a little better:

I hope you like them both and TFL!

TGF Storage

Today's question of the day on The Greeting Farm blog was how do you store your TGF stamps? Well, instead of just posting a comment about it, I decided to show you my method.

I use Stamp N' Stor Lightweight Storage Panels (you can find them at lots of online stores) in a 3" 3-ring binder. [You can click on the pictures to enlarge.]

For the single stamps, I just stamp the images on a piece of paper and slip it into an 8.5" x 11" page protector. Then I stick the stamps to a storage panel that's opposite the stamped images. You can fit 9 Anyas/Ians per panel.

For the sets, I cut the included image sheet down a little, and stick it to a sheet of paper (it hangs out a little at the top), and then again I stick the stamps to a storage panel opposite the images. As you can see, 4 sets will fit perfectly on one storage panel. You can also see (on the Pretty Hat image sheet) that after I create a mask for an image, I'll stick it onto the image sheet to use again later.

I have 5 storage panels with corresponding image sheets in page protectors and the binder is very full. Since you can stick stamps to both sides of the storage panels, you can fit a LOT of stamps in the binder. I have 25 sets, 9 Anyas, 5 Ians, and 3 fairies in my binder with room for more!

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to decorating my binder yet, but I have plans to do it in the future. Hope this helps someone solve their storage issues! TFL!

Happy Chef Black and White

The latest sketch challenge on The Greeting Farm blog has a twist - you can only use black and white (or grayscale)! At first I didn't think I could do it, but I tried anyway and here's what I came up with:

It was really difficult not to use ANY color at all, especially when his face and hand were begging to be skin-colored, but I resisted the urge!

I stamped Chef Ian and the present separately and colored them both with Copics. Then I cut them both out and popped them up with foam tape. I added Stardust glitter pen spread with a waterbrush to just the present for a little sparkle. You can see it better in this close shot:

For the finishing touches, I added some black organdy ribbon and rick-rack, a little sentiment banner, some Prima flowers, and half-pearls.

Although I really like how it came out, I still would have liked to add just a little pop of color somewhere! Hope you like it and TFL!

Materials used: Happy Chef set - The Greeting Farm; cardstock - Stampin' Up! (black), Georgia Pacific (white); patterned paper - Doodlebug; Graphite Black Brilliance ink - Tsukineko; Fresh Snow ink - Papertrey Ink; Copic markers; Stardust glitter pen - Sakura; Nestabilities Labels One - Spellbinders; D'Vine Swirls and Swiss Dots embossing folders - Provo Craft; Prima flowers; ribbon - Stampin' Up!; rick-rack from stash; pearls - MimiLolo Etsy store.

Monkey Surprise!

I recently bought a few Dandelion Designs stamps from a local scrapbook store and finally used one. I decided to play in the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #66 and thought this cute image of a monkey holding a present was perfect for it:

Buuuut... I really like using cupcakes when I'm playing in Taylor's challenges, so I decided to change up the image a bit and put a cupcake in his hands to cover up the present:

The cupcake is from the Susie Surprise set from The Greeting Farm and the sentiment was done with some super old Making Memories rub-ons. Hope you like it and TFL!

Other materials used: patterned paper - Basic Grey (Eva paper pad); white ribbon - May Arts; green ribbon from stash; flowers - Prima; buttons - Papertrey Ink; scallop border punch - Stampin' Up!; brads - Pink Hedgehog Papercrafts; Copic markers; small fern punch - CarlaCraft; Mega Curved Rectangles Nestabilities.

Matchbook Party Favors

I was given a few days to come up with an easy party favor idea for a relative's birthday and here's what I came up with:

I used Papertrey Ink's Simple Alphabet for the sentiment, the tiny heart from Sweet Love, and 3 different cupcake images from The Greeting Farm's Susie Surprise set.

First I cut strips (2.5" x 8.25") from various pieces of blue cardstock, then scored them on my Scor-Pal at 3", 3.5", and 7". Next, I stamped all the different elements and punched the top edge with the Stampin' Up! scallop border punch. Then I punched holes in the tops using the Crop-A-Dile II, then embossed them with the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder. Lastly, they're tied shut with silver cord from Stampin' Up!

I ended up making 44 and they actually went really fast! You can see from the view above that each "matchbook" contained a shortbread cookie shaped like a pineapple. They're from the Honolulu Cookie Company and they're yummy! I didn't want to punch through the cookie packaging so they're just stuck in there with a tiny bit of double stick tape. I hope everybody at the party likes them, and I hope you like them too! TFL!!

Susie Surprise & AMYRS2

Remember when I said I got a whole ton of new stamps from The Greeting Farm? Well, one of the sets was Susie Surprise and here she is:

Yesterday I got an order from Crop Chocolate for a bunch of Making Memories Garden Party stuff and I just had to use it! So what started as a card to celebrate a birthday ended up looking more like a card to celebrate Spring. Oh well... it's still cute. I'll try for a more birthday looking one later. BTW - I used an Amy Rysavy sketch for the layout.

Anyway, on to the details: I paper pieced all the balloons separately so they wouldn't look like just one big balloon with a continuous pattern. I also rounded them and popped them up with scrap cardstock. I colored Susie with Copics and used a black glaze pen for her shoes (to look like patent leather - wish I could capture it in a picture!) and her hair clips (to look like metal), and then added those tiny little flower rhinestones to her hair clips. The tag is a Cuttlebug die and the sentiment is from the Happy Chef set. The ribbon is May Arts, the white cardstock is Georgia Pacific, and everything else is MM Garden Party.

Here's a close shot of her head so you can see those cute little flower hairclips:

And here's a side shot so you can see some of the dimension:

Unfortunately, you can't really see the roundness of the balloons - they look so much better IRL! I hope you like it and TFL!
