Two Scoops Boo!

Renae at Two Scoops Rice Designs is having a World Cardmaking Day Contest right now so I decided to play! I used the Ms. Pepperpot free digi that she offered a while back and came up with this:

TSRDWitch1a
I paper pieced her hat and dress and did some layering with foam tape and scrap cardstock. You can see the dimension better here:

TSRDWitch1b
I added Stardust glitter pen to all the dots of her hat and dress, her belt buckle, and also to the black streaks in her hair, and a bow made of silver cord to her hat. The paper strip was punched on both sides with a Martha Stewart border punch and the velvet ric-rac is from May Arts.

Lastly I used glitter alpha stickers from Making Memories and a beaded hanging charm. All patterned paper is Basic Grey Eerie. I hope you like it and TFL!

Pop Tart Card and More!

I've had this adorable pop tart stamp from Two Scoops Rice Designs for a while, and finally got around to making a card with it:

Because I used papers with swirls and dots, I couldn't decide which to emboss the background with so I did both! First I ran through the piece with the D'Vine Swirls folder, then I ran it through again with the Swiss Dots folder. The swirls mostly flattened out with the second run through, but you can still see them and I think it's a really interesting pattern.

The patterned papers are from Basic Grey (very appropriately the Two Scoops line), and the Berry Sorbet cardstock is from Papertrey Ink. The ribbon is May Arts and the rubon is Cosmo Cricket.

And here's the more I was talking about - I made little felt versions using the stamp as a pattern!

I only put "sprinkles" on the frosting portion, and I played with the eyes a little trying to figure out exactly how to make them. Since they're so small, I had to make them slightly bigger to do them out of felt.

Here's a picture of the felties next to the card:

I LOVE how they came out and have been looking at my other stamps to see if they would make good felties! Hopefully I'll have more to share with you later. TFL and have a great day!

Cupcake Cutie!

I finally got a chance to play with my new set from Two Scoops Rice Designs - Cupcake and Ice Cream Cuties:

Isn't this image super adorable?!? I used the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #64 sketch, diecut the little flower out of felt using a Cuttlebug die, and the lace border was done with a Martha Stewart punch.

In this close shot, you can see that I glued on really itty bitty pearls for the sprinkles and added some dimensional adhesive on the cherry:

Lastly, the sentiment is from The Greeting Farm's Happy Chef set. Hope you like it and TFL!

Two Scoops Rice: Garden Fairy

Renae over at Two Scoops Rice Designs was so generous to give out a free digi image recently and it's so cute I had to make a couple different cards!

For both cards I paper pieced the fairy's outfit. It's a little more complicated doing piecing with digi images, but it's still very doable. I just printed the image onto regular printer paper, and then taped my piece of patterned paper over the image on all 4 sides. Then I just stuck the paper back in the printer tray and printed again. Since the image can print in a slightly different spot, I made sure my patterned paper was bigger than my image on all sides. I also stuck a piece of Eclipse masking tape over the image to create a mask for airbrushing. Lastly, I also printed the image a couple times on plain white cardstock to serve as my base for the fairies.

Unfortunately, when I was cutting and shaping my PP pieces, the toner did flake off a little so I had to go over some of the lines with a pen. I had much better results when cutting the mask, so I think the PP I used was just too thick (Memory Box PP is like cardstock).

For both cards I popped up just the "petals" of the skirt with 1/4" hole punches of scrap cardstock and the flowers on the hat with 1/8" hole punches for dimension.

You can see in the close shot that I added a couple of purple rhinestones to the flowers on the hat. For the second card, I added stickles to the flowers on the hat and shoes for a little sparkle. On both cards, I went over all of the outfit lines with a Stardust pen, but it's really hard to photograph.

All the letters are from Making Memories - Silver letters are Cheeky Shimmer Stickers and the rub-ons are Simply Stated Heidi font.
