Birthday Basics Turnabout Cards

Hi all!  I actually have 3 cards for you today!  The reason is because I also have a little tip for you: when you use your turnabout stamps and dies from Concord & 9th, make at least a few at the same time to save time!  Since you already went through the trouble of setting up the turnabout stamp in your MISTI (or other stamp positioning tool) and picked out your coordinating colors of ink, why not stamp a bunch of card fronts to have ready to go later when you need a last minute card and are strapped for time?  Birthday cards are especially handy to have around, so here are a few ideas for you.

As I said, I set up my Birthday Basics turnabout stamp in my original MISTI and picked out 4 colors of ink from My Favorite Things that I love together.  I also got out a sheet of kraft cardstock and white cardstock and cut them in quarters, making a total of 8 A2 size cardfronts.  I also needed a few extra turnabout jigs for this so I picked up a couple extra from Concord & 9th, but you could also make your own out of cardstock (like we used to do in the pre-jig days).

I put the jig with card front in the first position and stamped with the pink ink.  Then I switched out the jig to another with a blank card front and put it in the first position and stamped with the pink ink.  I went ahead and stamped all the fronts with the pink ink and then cleaned off the stamp.  It saves a lot of time not having to clean the stamp every single time you stamp!

Then I put the jig in position 2 and stamped with the green ink.  And continued with all the fronts.  Then I did the blue and purple inks.  When I was done, I had 8 card fronts on 2 different colors of cardstock!

To make the shaker card, I took one of the kraft panels and die cut an opening with a Lawn Fawn die.  I got a white cardstock base and stamped with the word and confetti images from the Birthday Basics set with the same ink colors.  I added 2 layers of craft foam with a circle cut out of them, and filled the opening with the Enchanting sequin mix from Little Things from Lucy's Cards - it's the perfect match for my colors!  Finally I sealed off the opening with some Duralar film and it was done!

My second and third cards are a twofer - I made one with bits left over from the other!

I used the dies in the matching die set and also the Altenew Bold Alphabet die set for the HAPPY letters.

And I still have 6 card fronts left to make into cards!!  Such a great way to save time making multiple cards (and they don't all have to be the same design).

Thanks very much for stopping by my blog and hope you have a great day! ~Maureen

Happy Easter Box Card

Hi all! Today I have a box card for you using The Greeting Farm images and a bunch of Lawn Fawn dies:

I should have taken some pics during the process, but I was actually filming it on my phone and it didn't go well, so no pics or video!  Anyway, I'll tell you what all I did :)

I felt like doing colored pencils on kraft and making a whole kraft project, so I did!  I stamped all the images (some multiple times) with Gina K.'s black amalgam ink on the Toned Tan paper with my MISTI then colored with colored pencils and blended with Zest It.  I put it back in the MISTI and overstamped with Versafine because it gives such a nice black, crisp line.

Unfortunately I don't have dies for this set so I cut them out with my Scan N Cut.  Apparently my SNC had a little difficulty with the tan background so I had to trim off some weird extra bits with scissors.

The box parts were cut out of Papertrey Ink kraft cardstock and the patterned paper is from the Doodlebug kraft 6x6 paper pad.  Then I just assembled everything (make sure to put in that paper for the back panel before you assemble because it's harder once the box is put together).  Most were just stuck on with my ATG gun, but a few things were popped up on foam tape.

I hope you like my project and TFL!  ~Maureen

Fairy Scalloped Box Card

Hi all!  It's been a while, hasn't it?  I completely lost my stamping bug, but it seems to be back so I'm playing again!

I recently got the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up dies:

Lawn Fawn SCALLOPED BOX CARD POP-UP Lawn Cuts LF1376

I thought it was so cute, I had to make one!

I stamped the images from the Fairy Friends stamp set using my Mini MISTI and Memento Black ink.  Then I took it out and colored with Chameleon markers.  I put the images back in my MISTI and overstamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Finally I used my Scan N Cut to cut them all out.

I cut all the box pieces from a couple of different Lawn Fawn patterned papers and assembled the box.  Then I stuck in all the pieces with my ATG tape gun.  For the fairies, I cut thin strips of stiff plastic and adhered them to the box with the strips so it looks like they're flying.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the set with Versafine on a scrap of the blue PP, trimmed it out, and used foam tape to adhere it to the front flap.  I love how it turned out!!

I hope to keep posting as long as my stamping bug stays and I can share with you all.  Please note that affiliate links are used in my posts.  TFL and have a great day! ~Maureen

Baaah Humbug

Hi all!  I’m back with what will probably be my last card for the WCMD festivities:

BaaahHumbug1

I used the Baaah Humbug set as well as the Background Builders: Vines set.  This is for the Winnie & Walter WCMD challenges – partial stamping challenge.  Here’s a shot of the Vines stamp that I used to make the little leafy hill the sheep is standing on:

BaaahHumbug1b

You can see from the top portion that I just attached part of the vine to a little block I had and stamped it over and over to make the little hill.  For the sheep, he was stamped with my MISTI in Memento ink, colored with Copics, and overstamped with Versafine ink.  I cut the sentiment stamp so I could stamp the words on top of each other (I find cutting them apart easier than masking off portions).  I hope you like it and TFL!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hi all!  I’m going to try and crank out some cards today in honor of WCMD, so be prepared for some posts!

I’m starting with this card:

MerryChristmouse1

I used the sold out Stamptember set from SSS and Lawn Fawn called Merry Christmouse and the French Pastry Doily.  I stamped them with my MISTI with Memento ink, colored with Copics, and overstamped with Versafine.  I then cut them out with my new Scan N Cut 2.

This is for Power Poppy – sketch, non-traditional Holiday colors, and bling (the doily was cut from glitter cardstock) and Cheery Lynn Designs – anything goes and use Cheery Lynn product, and SSS WCMD challenge - anything goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Booyah

Hi all!  Today I have a card made for the Lawnscaping Challenge – One Layer Card (which is just a card base with no additional layers of paper/cardstock and minimal embellies).  Here’s what I came up with:

Booyah1

First I used Make the Cut to create an A2 size rectangle with the word BOO cut out.  I blacked out the letters so they would be solid.  I cut it using my Scan N Cut, stuck down the letters on my card base, and sponged Black Soot Distress Ink around the letters.

Next, using the Booyah stamp set,  I stamped the hat/hair onto the card using my MISTI and masked them all off using reusable masks I previously made.  [I specifically call them reusable because they are covered in clear packing tape so I can wipe off any ink that gets on them.  This makes sure the ink doesn’t leak through the masks and I can keep using them until the stick on the back wears off.]  I then stamped the ghost bodies and colored them using Luminance colored pencils. Then I stamped their little faces.

Finally, I put it back in my MISTI to stamp the sentiment, which I embossed with clear embossing powder.  Here’s a start to finish video:

And here’s THE LINK in case you can’t see the video player above.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Jolly Holly Days

Hi all!  Before I get to my card for today, I wanted to share an important announcement from Your Next Stamp:

We’d love to have you YNS fans join in on the fun!  You can click the picture for more information.

Today I have a cute little card made for a few challenges:

SnowDay3

I used the Snow Day stamp set from Lawn Fawn and the matching lawn cuts (dies).  I sponged the background with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and then used a stencil and modeling paste to add the stars.  I then cut some glitter cardstock with a not-yet-released die from Your Next Stamp and added it at the bottom.  The tree was stamped on white cardstock and paper pieced and the bunny was stamped and colored a little with Copics.  The strip at the bottom is from the Snow Day paper pad.

This is for the following challenges:

  • CAS(E) this Sketch – sketch (I flipped the sketch left to right because I wanted to put the bunny where the sentiment was on the sketch)

You Warm My Heart

Hi all!  I have a card using the current sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

SnowDay2

I used the super adorable Snow Day stamp set from Lawn Fawn, and the matching dies.  The bunnies were colored with Copics and the heart is a solid stamp that I did in red ink.  The snow mounds were cut with a Mama Elephant die and the large stitched rectangle die is from Blueprints 15 from MFT.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Announcement and a card!

Hi all!  I have an exciting announcement to make today – I got picked as one of the World Card Making Day winners!!  I’m so excited and grateful to Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine for picking my card!

And now for my card for today:

SnowDay1

I just got the Lawn Fawn Snow Day paper pad and Snow Day stamp set and had to use them right away – they are so stinkin’ cute!

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday (flipped left to right because it fit my paper better that way) and a few papers from the pad.  That little snowy scene with the bunnies is actually a piece of paper that I die cut – all the work is done for you!  I used a bunch of Blueprints dies to cut the pieces and stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the main panel in a color to match.  Finally I added some rustic twine and a little bow.

This is also for Pile It On – Feeling Cool (and combine with at least 1 other challenge) and Creative Card Crew – Christmas Joy.  I hope you like it and TFL!

hi deer

Hi all!  I have a card for a couple of challenges made from all scraps that were sitting around on my work table!

IntoTheWoods2

I stamped and die cut the deer from Into The Woods on brown felt a long time ago, just to see if it would work nicely.  Then I never got around to using it!  I also tried out my A Muse|Studio Woodgrain Impression plate a while back and never made anything with that either.  So here they both are with some patterned paper scraps also from my table (yes, my table is a MESS!) and a sentiment made using Mini Monograms.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and this is also for Creative Card Crew – Animals, and Delightful Challenges - add a critter. I hope you like it and TFL!

This is what the fox says…

Hi all!  I have a really fun card for you today that answers the question, “What does the fox say?”  [If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out the video.]

IntoTheWoods1

I made up this card fold and am calling it the center platform card.  If somebody already made it and called it something else, please let me know – I couldn’t find anything like it after a LOT of searching!  It’s very similar to one I made a long time ago for a WMS Blog Party.

Basically it’s a center step card, but instead of having the steps in the center, it has a platform.  The platform has a space in the center where the cardstock comes together so that you can stick stuff right in there and don’t even need any adhesive!

The fox, word bubble and clouds are from the Into the Woods set, cut with the matching dies, and the woodgrain, heart and sentiment are from the Woodgrain Backdrops set.  I used the MFT grass die and some of the Into the Woods paper for the grass.  Finally, there is a tiny piece of plastic holding the word bubble above the fox’s head.

This is for Lawnscaping challenge – Pinterest Inspired.  I don’t really do Pinterest, so the challenge said I could use something that inspires me and that is the above linked What does the fox say? song.  As soon as I saw the fox and heart word bubble in this set, I knew I wanted to do this little scene!   I hope you like it and TFL!
