Make Yesterday Jealous!

Hey all! I'm trying to find a happy medium between cleaning my craft room and actually taking time to craft, and here's the result of one of those crafting sessions:

I just love this sentiment from the Altenew Painted Inspiration stamp set!  I also picked it because it's a very bold font so I thought it would still be readable even over the bit of the mandala (I hope it is!).

Mandalas are very popular and fun to color, but buying big mandala stamps can really add up, so I thought I'd share one solution I've come up with - I bought a digital book of mandala designs to color!  I looked around for a while to find a whole book (as opposed to buying single images, which also adds up) with designs that I would actually want to color.  I finally found this one, Blooming Mandala coloring book, on Etsy that I love!  It's got 50 images and they are really pretty and fun to color!

They are meant to be printed on letter size paper so I just cut it up into 4 pieces and colored one.  I printed on plain old Georgia Pacific cardstock from Walmart and colored with Chameleon alcohol pens.  I wouldn't recommend trying to do a lot of blending on this cardstock because it does tend to bleed a lot, so the Chameleon pens were perfect to get that gradated look without any blending.

After coloring, I die cut it with a stitched rectangle die and matter with a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock from Stampin' Up!  I stamped the sentiment using my Mini MISTI and Versafine several times to get it really nice and solid, then embossed with clear embossing powder.

Finally I mounted the whole thing on a white card base then got back to cleaning! lol!  I hope you like this idea for lots of mandala coloring fun and thanks for stopping by today.  Have a great day! ~Maureen

You are so nice

Hi all!  I have a card for a couple challenges today:

HappyMailDigi1

This is a digi image from Sweet Escape Digis called Happy Mail.  I colored her with Copics and cut her out with a .04” shadow using my ScanNCut.  She was popped up on foam tape and the sentiment is from Word Salad.

This is for MarkerPop – Anything Goes (and colored with markers) and SSS Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Adding Sunshine

Hi all!  I’ve got a card for a few challenges today:

SunflowerPower2

I used the gorgeous digi image Sunflower Power with its matching sentiment.  I just opened up an A2 sized canvas in Photoshop Elements and put in the image off the side and the sentiment in the bottom corner.  I saved as a JPG and printed out from Word.

I colored the sunflower with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and just a little water.  It’s amazing how vibrant the colors came out!  Finally, I shabbied up the panel by distressing the edges with scissors and sponging Distress Ink around the edges.  I added a thin strip of lace to the back and called it a day.

Here’s a video:

And here’s THE LINK in case you can’t see the video player above.

This is for the following challenges:

Be A Unicorn!

Hi all!  Today I have another new (to me) stamp company called Ppinky Dolls.  I instantly fell in love with the images and especially loved this one when it came out!  It’s called Unicorn Ppinky and it’s just too adorable!  I had the perfect saying to go with it too!

UnicornPpinky1

I saw that saying on the internet somewhere and thought it was so funny, so I stored it away in my brain to use later.  And I guess now is later!

Here’s a close up of Ppinky:

UnicornPpinky1b

Unfortunately the colors came out all weird in my pictures – the purple paint is much nicer in real life and the grey specks all over are actually silver glitter.  I colored Ppinky with colored pencils because I still haven’t got the hang of coloring her with Copics – I need more practice.  You can see in the close shot that I added embossing paste stars all over the top of the page to give it texture.

This is for Ppinky Dolls Challenge – Anything Goes or Halloween, and also SSS Monday Challenge – Anything Goes.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Happy Halloween

Hi all!  I have a card using a digi image from a company I recently discovered called Aurora Wings.  I’ve fallen head over heels for her images so you’ll be seeing more AW in the future!  Here’s my card for today:

WildRoseSprite1

I used Whimsical Wild Rose Sprite and Copic markers.  I wanted to do a Halloween card with a non-Halloween image, so that’s where this came from. The sentiment is from the YNS set Fang-Tastic Halloween

This is for the following challenges:

Hugs

Hi all!  I have another card using A Day For Daisies image because I wanted to play along with their challenge – Stripes:

FairyWish1

I used the image Fairy Wish (sorry I can’t link it because it’s not in the store) and the sketch from Sketch Saturday (which BTW is sponsored by ADFD this week).  I printed her on Georgia Pacific cardstock with my Epson printer and colored her with Copics.  I matched her striped stockings to the striped background paper and picked the rest of the colors from the stockings.  I added a sentiment from Sentiment Sampler and a couple of YNS Gumdrops (colored with Copics to match).  I hope you like it and TFL!

You Are So Nice

Hi all!  I have a card for a few challenges today:

HelloFairy1

I used the pretty Hello Fairy image from A Day For Daisies and a sentiment from Word Salad.  I printed the image on Georgia Pacific cardstock with my Epson printer and colored with all pink Copics (except for hair and skin).  I airbrushed the background just a little with the R81 Copic also so it wouldn’t be so stark white.

This is for:

I hope you like it and TFL!

Hi all!  I have a card for a couple challenges today:

LittleStripedDress1

The image is called Little Striped Dress and was printed on heavy watercolor cardstock.  The Challenge at A Day for Daisies is to use your fave technique and mine right now is watercoloring!  I used Distress inks for the skin tones and the rest was colored with Inktense pencils.

Mardiana by YamPuff

Hi all!  I’ve been practicing with my Copics for a while and always love to find new images to play with.  Recently I came across an amazing artist named YamPuff and had to play immediately!  Here’s Mardiana:

Mardiana1

Isn’t she gorgeous?  LOVE her!!  I didn’t want to take anything away from the image, so I just put her on a card base and left it at that.

This is also for Digital Tuesday – Pink and White.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Sunshine Again

Hi all!  Today I have another card using the same sentiment that I used on yesterday’s card:

SendingYouSunshine1

It seemed to fit the image so I used it again.  It’s from the YNS set Heartfelt Sentiments.

This is a digi image called Chibi Lily Sending You Sunshine.  Isn’t she adorable?!  She was colored with Copics and cut out with a thin white border.  Then I foam mounted her on a piece of patterned paper from the Teresa Collins Sweet Afternoon paper pad.  Finally I added a bit of Timeless Twine to finish it off.

This is for Alicia's Challenge #3 – use decorated paper and an image from Alicia’s Little Shop.  I hope you like it and TFL!

P.S. I forgot to say that the image does not have a nose - I drew that in just because I felt like it!

Smile

Hi all!  I have a card today that uses a new (to me anyway) artist named Alicia Alva.   The image I used is Photographer:

AliciaPhotographer1

I colored her with Copics and used my new fave Polaroid die from the Insta Love die set from YNS and a sentiment from the Insta Love stamp set.  To finish off the card, I added a bit of washi tape and a star button, both from A·Muse|Studio, tied on with just a bit of Timeless Twine.

This is for Alicia's Challenge – use your fave crafty item (I used Copics and the polaroid die).  I hope you like it and TFL!

Happy New Year!

Yes, I know it’s way too early for this, but I wanted to use the Meoples Celebrate digi set for the new All That Scraps Challenge (Anything Goes!):

Celebrate1

I printed the Meoples and sentiment and die cut them out with a Nesties die then colored with Copics.  I glittered up all the black parts of their outfits and all around them.

We hope you’ll play along with us!  Just remember to use a stamp that’s sold in the ATS Store!  TFL!

Dress Up Snowman Magnets

Hi everybody!  Today I have a reminder post that there’s still a week left to play in the current All That Scraps Challenge.  The theme is ABC – Anything But a Card.  This week I made a fun little play set with the Meoples Dress Up Snowman digi set:

DressUpSnowman1b

The snowman was printed on white cardstock and colored with Copics.  Then I covered him with clear laminating paper and backed him with sheet magnet.  It was a little tough cutting through all those layers, but still doable!

The hats were all paper pieced with patterned paper and colored with Copics.  The I covered them with laminating paper and backed them with magnet just like the snowman.  My tip is not to use the thinnest, weakest magnet you can find (like I did) just because you think it’ll be easier to cut – the hats have a hard time sticking on top of the snowman’s head because of all the layers.  I ended up having to put a little bit of adhesive on each of the hats to hold them more securely.

Here you can see him with one of the hats on:

DressUpSnowman1

We hope you’ll play along with us at ATS!  Don’t forget to use a stamp that’s sold in the ATS Store and you can find the rest of the details at the ATS challenge blog.  TFL!

Ho Ho Ho

Hi all!  This is a reminder post that you still have a week left to enter the current All That Scraps Challenge, which is Anything Goes!  I made a fun shaped card (you know how I love those!) for my post this week:

NoPeeking2

I used the Santa image from the Meoples No Peeking digi set and a custom card file that I made using Make-The-Cut.  All the card pieces (except for the image) were cut with my Zing.

The Santa was colored with Copics and cut out leaving a thin white border.

We hope you’ll play along with us and remember to use a stamp that’s sold in the ATS Store!  TFL!

No Peeking Shaker Magnet

Hi all!  Sorry this post is up a little late – I totally forgot to write it!

This is a reminder post that you still have a week to play in the current All That Scraps Challenge, which is ABC – Anything But a Card.  Remember to use a stamp that’s sold in the ATS Store!

I made a shaker magnet today using the gingerbread man from the No Peeking digi set:

NoPeeking1

I used an old Sizzix die to make the shaker frame and the new Holly and Berry die to decorate the front.  I colored the gingerbread man with Copics then fussy cut him out and mounted him in the frame with foam tape.  Finally, I filled the shaker with tiny seed beads and some fine confetti.

We hope you’ll play along!  All the info you need can be found on the ATS Challenge blog.  TFL!

Hi all!  I have another non-Christmas card using a different Christmas set from Paper Smooches called  Christmas Sampler:

 FreehandButterfly1wMusic1

This is for A Day For Daisies challenge – Pop it up using their image Freehand Butterfly 1, this is the version with music notes.  I used the sketch from Unscripted and papers from the MME Follow Your Heart – Be Happy paper pad.

I paper pieced the butterfly, fussy cut it out and adhered just the body so that the wings could pop up off the card.  I hope you like it and TFL!

Ocean Rose Tag/Bookmark

Hey everybody! I have another project for you today! I made another bookmark, this time in a tag shape: OceanRose1 Once again I used a Hannah Lynn image that was printed on watercolor paper and colored with my Tombows. I covered the front with clear laminating film and mounted it on a matching black tag. Can you tell I just adore Hannah Lynn's art?! This is also for the Digital Tuesday Challenge - "Tag It." Hope you like it and TFL!
