*****And now for my projects*****

First up I have a simple card using a few of the new releases:

PilesOfSmiles1

I stamped (twice) and colored the squirrel from Piles of Smiles with Copics.  I fussy cut around the whole image, and then cut again leaving out the tail.  I layered the body on the base with foam tape.  I cut a strip of Kraft cardstock and stamped in brown ink with the Woodgrain stamp.  Then I layered a scalloped strip of orange cardstock underneath the woodgrain and adhered it to the white panel.  I ran that whole panel through my diecut machine with one of the Stitching Holes dies and did a simple backstitch with some jute twine, leaving the ends a little long and tying knots to keep them from coming out.

Finally I cut a Stitched Fishtail Two tag, tied a little of the same jute twine at the top, and added the squirrel.  The sentiment was stamped with Old Olive ink.

For my second card, I have a spinning turkey!

GobbleGobble1

I used the Large Spinner/Slider Die set and the Gobble Gobble stamp set.  And here’s a video introducing the dies and how I made the card:

YNS Sneak Peek

Hi all!  Tomorrow is the Your Next Stamp New Release Blog Hop, so today I have a sneak peek of some of the product coming out:

HalloweenCuties1

Please excuse the weird lighting – I had a hard time getting a good shot.  And anyway, I think the funny shadows kind of lend a menacing tone to this Halloween card!

I used the new Halloween Cuties set, a sentiment from Ghostly Greetings and the Stitching Holes dies to make those string patterns on the corners.  The die set consists of a bunch of straight lines of stitching holes.  To make the holes for the string patterns on this card, I actually cut the same size die twice on each corner.

I also used the previously released 3D Banner Die Set.

Please check out the YNS Blog to see all the designers who have peeks to show you today and I hope you’ll stop back for the Hop tomorrow!

And now for my projects ....

ScriptyWordDies1

For this card, I used the Scripty Word Die Set and a bunch of sparkly gumdrops.  I cut the dies with masking paper and stuck them down to a piece of white cardstock.  Then I sponged a couple different distress inks over them and lifted them off to reveal the white words.

MasonJars1

For this card, I used the Mason Jars set, with its included sentiment.  I made a shaker card and filled it with some sequins.  The sentiment was stamped on the smaller of the 3D Banner dies and the topper was colored with Copics and fussy cut out.

YNS July New Release Blog Hop!

July2014HopBadge

Hello and welcome to our July Your Next Stamp New Release MEGA Blog Hop. The rubber stamp and digital teams have worked hard to complete some awesome projects for this combined hop!  We have five new stamp sets in the store and the digi team is showcasing all the digi images we currently have. If you “shore” do love sea creatures, you are going to LOVE this new release! You can find all of the new goodies HERE at the Your Next Stamp Store.

The hop begins on Julie's blog and if you've been hopping along, you should have come from Jackie's blog. Make sure you hop around to all of the blogs featured in the link list located at the bottom of this post for lots of inspiration using the new products! If you leave a comment on all of the blogs, you will be entered to win a $20.00 YNS gift certificate. The lucky winner will be announced on the Your Next Stamp Blog July 10th.

I have 2 cards for you today using the new releases.  First up is one using Sea Creatures Two and Sea Creatures Sentiments:

SeaCreaturesTwo1

For the background, I took a piece of watercolor paper and streaked on 3 different colors of Distress Inks with my blending sponges.  Then I sprinkled some water over it and it left those little spots everywhere.  I used a Spellbinders die to make the frame for the seahorse, which was colored with Copics.  Finally I added the sentiment and mounted the panel on a card base.

For my second card, I used the Toad-Ally Awesome set and made a shaker card:

ToadAllyAwesome1

The toad and fly were stamped and colored with Copics.  I punched out the fly with a 1/2” circle punch and fussy cut the toad out.  I made a little shaker element using dies from the Insta Love Polaroid die set and a piece of fun foam, acetate, and a couple patterned papers.  I added some sequins to the shaker and glued the whole thing together with Glossy Accents.  The toad was mounted with foam tape and I added a sentiment from the set on the bottom.

This is also for Simon Says Stamp – Shake It.

We're currently doing some spring cleaning around here and everything in the YNS store is ON SALE – even the new items are 20% off so now is the time to shop!

YNS Sneak Peek

Hi all!  We’re gearing up for another fun release from Your Next Stamp so I have a sneak peek for you today!  I used the new set Cactus and Flower Fun and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Cactus&FlowerFun1

I paper pieced the short cactus from the set with 3 different patterned papers, shaded with Copics, and added a little face from Fun Faces (this new set was made to go with Fun Faces!).  I cut the circle from the front of the card base and added the cactus with a bit of foam tape and then finished it off with a banner I made using the Fishtail/Banner Die Set.  The sentiment is also from Cactus and Flower Fun.

Please check out the YNS Blog to see all the designers that have a peek for you today and I hope you’ll join us back here tomorrow for the July New Release Blog Hop!

YNS Special Event Day!

Hi all!  Today is this month’s Special Event Day over at the Your Next Stamp Blog.  We’ve decided to highlight the Little Darlings series of stamps from Macy Wong!!  I decided to make a Fun Journal layout using Brittney:

Brittney1a

I gessoed over the pages then stamped Brittney with black Staz On ink and colored with Inktense Pencils and water.  I cut 3 banners using the Fishtail/Banner Die Set and adhered them to the pages.  I did the sentiment and then covered both pages with butterflies cut using a Martha punch.

Here’s just the left page:

Brittney1b

And just the right page:

Brittney1c

I stamped a sentiment from Whatnot Sentiments Set Two and cut out all the words separately.  Then instead of using the AMAZING from the sentiment, I spelled it out with alpha stickers so it would be a little bigger for emphasis.

Just to remind you – the storewide sale will be ending soon.  Don’t miss out!

Also, we’re still trying to get to 3,000 fans on our Facebook Page.  Please check it out and like and share if you haven’t already!

3000 FB Fan Giveaway

Finally, to bring this Special Event Day post to an end, please go over to the YNS Blog and comment for a chance to win a stamp of your choice!

This is also for Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes. Thanks very much for joining me today!
