Your Next Stamp Challenge #17

Your Next Stamp Challenge

Yay! I have another Your Next Stamp Challenge today! But before I get to the challenge, I wanted to let you know that we have some new releases coming soon so Karen has a fun contest on her blog. Check it out and you could win a special new release prize package!

Ok, now back to the challenge! Our hostess is Maylee and she would like us to use border punches on our projects. I love border punches, and here's what I came up with:

MiniGreetings1a
I used the awesome Mini Greetings set (it has 18 images and 21 greetings - you can make loads of different cards with this one set!) and a couple papers from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper pad.

I stamped the bee, colored with Copics and a little Stardust glitter pen on the wings, cut it out leaving a thin border of white all around, then popped it up on a thin strip of acetate that I folded twice to make a kind of backwards square "C" shape. Here's a close shot so you can kind of see what I mean:

MiniGreetings1b
One tab is glued under the flower center and the other tab is glued to the back of the bee. The bee just kind of hovers over the flower instead of being glued right to it. And isn't the detail of the flower center interesting? It's just a silk flower that I got a million years ago in a scrapbook kit - yay for using really old stash!!

Challenges: We hope you'll play along with us! One lucky participant will be drawn at random to win $10 in YNS Stamp Bucks!! You don't have to use YNS images on your card, but if you do you'll get a double entry in the draw!

Also, the challenge hostess will choose her favorite card, and that winner will get the YNS Challenge "Top Pick" blinkie to proudly display on their blog PLUS $5 in YNS Stamp Bucks! You must use a YNS image to be eligible to be chosen for Top Pick.

Full details can be found at the YNS Challenge Blog. TFL!
