Hi all! Today I have a CAS card for some challenges:
First I sponged 3 different colors of Distress Inks through a grid stencil, then I stamped the sentiment from Extra Time with Versafine using my MISTI. Finally I punched out a butterfly from black cardstock using a Martha Stewart punch and glued down just the body so the wings could stick up.
Hi all! Today I have a card for several challenges:
I used Mama Elephant’s Modern Borders stamped repeatedly with rainbow colors to make the background. Then I cut it with the largest of the Stitched Rectangles, mounted it on a black card base, and added a diecut Fancy Thanks.
Here’s a video I made mostly on stamping the background with the MISTI:
Hi all! Today is Feature Day at Your Next Stamp when the DT gets a theme and whips up some fantastic inspiration for you! This month our theme was NOT an A2 card. You may think it’s a little boring, but I did a square card. The reason why is because I was looking at the Fun with Squares die set grid and decided I wanted to alter it by using the partial die cutting technique. Here’s my card (BTW – I used the colors from the current YNS Color Challenge):
And here’s the video showing how to alter the grid:
You may have noticed that I did the inlaid die cut technique, so here’s a short video with a tip on it:
Make sure you check out all the inspiration over at the YNS Blog and comment there for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice! TFL!
Hi all! Today is the DT Dare day and our theme is Feminine Cards. Of course I had to be difficult and use the For the Boys stamp set and matching dies. So I came up with a pink remote control:
The reason the card dimensions and the die cut look a little wonky are because I had to take the picture at an angle – the remote control is attached with an L-shaped piece of plastic so that it will fold flat for mailing, but pops up when out of the envelope!
You can check out all the inspiration from the DT over at the YNS Blog. Don’t forget to comment over there for your chance to win a stamp set of your choice!! TFL!
Hi all and welcome to my stop on the April YNS New Release Blog Hop! If you’ve been following the links, you should have come from Danielle’s blog. If you’ve just happened upon my post, please go back to the beginning at Carole’s blog (links are at the bottom of this post) because you won’t want to miss a stop!
This is such a great release! I asked Karen for a stitched rectangle die set and here it is – I think I’ll be using that set a LOT! We also have some really cute stamp sets and dies (my favorite is the new Waddles Happy Brrrthday set)! I’m also loving the new Large Bookmark dies – I recently got a heat laminator and it’s perfect to preserve those special bookmarks I make!
Well, I think that’s enough chatter, let’s get on with the show!
First up I have one of those laminated bookmarks I was just talking about:
I used the new Bookworms Rule set for the sentiment and cut the bookmark with the Large Bookmark die set. I simply cut a piece of patterned paper with the largest of the Stitched Rectangles, stamped the sentiment with the help of my MISTI, and cut a slit in the middle with my Fiskars trimmer to insert the bookmark.
The bookmark is just a piece of double-sided patterned paper cut with the 3rd largest bookmark die and laminated with a 5 mil laminating pouch. I cut it out with scissors, punched the hole with my Crop-A-Dile II and tied 3 colors of baker’s twine through the top.
For my second project, I’ve made what I’m calling a Center Step Card that I’ve made a couple times before (if somebody has already come up with this card fold, please LMK and I’ll give them credit – I couldn’t find any others when I searched).
I used the Waddles Happy Brrrthday set which includes the sentiment. The sentiment strip was cut using the Stitched Rectangles set (and no, there isn’t one that particular size – I double cut the die cut to get it that size). Here’s a top view of the card so you can better see the platform:
I’ve also made 2 videos for this card. Part 1 shows how to make the card base and Part 2 is the decorating of the card.
And here’s the pattern that I mentioned in Part 1:
One random commenter will be drawn from all the comments on all the blog on the hop and will receive a $20 YNS Gift Certificate! And as always, there’s a super sale to help you get all the new releases and more!
And now you’re off to Brianna’s Blog, but don’t forget to leave a comment before you go! Happy Hopping!
Hi all! It’s that time of the month again – a new release from Your Next Stamp! Today we have some fun sneak peeks for you and here’s mine:
(Sorry about the picture – I got quite a bit of glare off of the lamination.)
I used the new Large Bookmark dies and the Bookworms Rule stamp set. And I even made a video:
I hope you like it and that you’ll check out the YNS Blog for a list of all the designers with peeks today. And then I hope we’ll see you back here tomorrow for the New Release Hop!
Hi all! Today I have a card made for the Uniko Studio challenge – Anything Goes. I did choose to use the optional sketch and here’s what I came up with:
On Kraft cardstock, I stamped a vine and flowers from Background Builders: Vines. Next, I used 2 heart dies from Little B to cut out the shapes from the card base. I adhered a piece of plastic to the inside of the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of vellum using the MISTI and stapled it to the smaller heart. Then I adhered the heart to the plastic. I hope you like it and TFL!
