Sending Wishes and ScanNCut

Hi all!  Today I have a Stampin’ Up! card to share with you:

ButterflyBasics1

I used the set Butterfly Basics, Vanilla cardstock and inks from SU!  I stamped (with the help of my MISTI) the yellow airmail motif and the sentiment directly on the card base.  Then I stamped the fern image on a separate piece of vanilla CS.  Then I cut it out.  NO, not by hand!  With my new ScanNCut machine from Brother.

I got a great deal on it recently so I had to go for it!  I’m planning on using it mainly for stamping images and then cutting them out – that means I don’t need to buy matching dies for all my stamps.  Or in this case, there isn’t even a matching die!  So far it’s working great and I’ll have more info about it in later blog posts and possibly even videos.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches:

FMS Final 200 Vers_2-001

I hope you like it and TFL!

  3. Great card! Love that fern leaf and can't believe there's a machine that will cut it out for you! Fantastic! Thanks for joining us for our 200th sketch celebration at Freshly Made Sketches!

  4. I like the card you have created. And that is super news about the new machine. I have been reading about the ScanNCut for almost a year now. I cannot seem to click on the confirm button to purchase. Maybe in upcoming posts I will see why I should make the bold move. For the last 8 years I have been a huge fan of SCAL and my current cutting machine but takes several manual steps on my part to achieve what the ScanNCut could do for me, I think. Hoping to read many positives about your purchase. Which model did you get?

  5. Thanks, Maureen, I always LOVE your cards.

Now, you've inspired me (again) to 'think' about learning again,( as it's been awhile) to dust off my Cameo Silhouette, to cut out my images. I don't like 'fussy cutting' by hand and I don't know why I haven't used it in forever.

You were a great inspiration a few months ago when you mentioned your pigment-based printer for digi images for coloring with Zig markers...I did my research, and bought one! I can always get a 'perfect stamped image' with my MISTI, and then create multiple perfect images for printing on the watercolor paper.

Thanks again, for ALL your inspiration! And Congrats on your new machine. Isn't technology wonderful!!!

  7. Gosh Maureen, I'm so excited that you bought a Scan-N-Cut! I just got the same model less than a week ago! Learning all kinds of new things about it, and very much looking forward to your insights, as you are a person who figures things out and I really appreciate it. There is one thing I'd like to know: mine doesn't center the direct cut quite as well as yours does, and I'm wondering if there is a calibration procedure I can do (the one in the manual is apparently just for the screen as it didn't help). I did purchase a copy of Sure Cuts A Lot 4, and you might want to look into that--I like it a lot better than the online Canvas program from Brother. Send me an email is you want to know more! --Cyndiestamps
